i am pregnant with twins and my husband and i have agreed not to dress them in the exact same outfits unless we want to mess with someone. my husband isn't comfortable with the possibility of mixing them up and they ending up with eachothers names or something. but i told him that he would definately know who is who. but i personall think that it would be really neat to dress them alike on certain occasions, like contests or some kind of twins fair. but i also think that it has some ups and downs to it. i might dress them in same outfit but different color tho. we don't know what they are yet so we will see.

Idnetical twins run through my moms side of the family. My great grandpa is a twin, and then I have 2 sets of twin cousins that are now 21 years old. The set of twins that I've been around most are girls and their mom always dressed them alike. I personally think people think its cute to do that and it is BUT I thin after a certain age they shouldn't be dressed alike. You want to give them each their own since of individuality. I think if I had a twin and I was always dressed like her it'd drive me crazy. They may be twins but they're each a person and always dressing a like kind makes them seem not seem individual.

I think that it would make it even harder for others to be able to recognize who is who of the twins. I have hard time recognizing identical twins when they are wearing different clothes but the same clothes would be harder unless you were the parents or family members. My brother and sister are twins but they of course never wear the same clothes. :-)

I am the mother of identical twin boys. I would dress them alike, but differently too. When I would find a shirt that I liked, I would buy them in different colors. This allowed them to grow as individuals. People often bought identical outfits. When they were older I would let them choose their own clothes. Sometimes they would want the same shirt. It was their choice so I let them have it. Occasionally they would choose to wear the same outfit at the same time.
Think of how uncomfortable you feel when you walk into a room and you see someone wearing the same article of clothing that you are.

I'm a twin, and growing up i was always made to wear the same clothes as my bro, and i hated it with a passion, everybody needs there own identity!...now that i am 21, i have my own identity, and we are nothing alike!...and thats the way i like it...=D

Identical twins still have their own personality and identity so I think they should wear different clothes, unless they want to have identical clothes themselves.
Even if they wear different clothes it is often difficult to tell who is who if you donĀ“t know them well.

I think it is great lol They look so Sweet even though I have to say I would make sure that one of them had at least something different even if it is a bracelet or something to identify which is which as it is well known what Fun they have lol

I think it is cute when they are babies. When they get older it would be better for us who are not around them all the time to have them dressed differently. I use to babysit for identical twin boys and after being around them for some time I could tell them apart by their personalities. But if you are not around them a lot you could not tell them apart because they were always dressed alike. They are now adults and the funny thing is they are both cops so they still dress just alike. LOL

I think it's cute, and the families always like it. But I would imagine that as the kids get old enough to recognize different people they would want to have their own "personality" and "style". I would think that by the time they are about 3 years old they should be wearing different clothes. This is when they begin to pick out their "favorites", so I don't think it's right to force the identical look on them.

I think that twins are adorable in matching outfits but they are adorable regardless...LOL!! My mom used to dress my younger sister and i the same as we are 14 months apart. People used to always mistake us as being twins when we were young still do actually sometimes!!!

Its really cute! To mothers who have twins take a lot of pictures of them wearing identical clothes or costumes then show it to them or their friends when they grow up. It will surely bring out tons of happy memories for you and your family.

Well when twins wear identical clothes it looks very charming
and one can just see the magic of god.
But this creats a lot of problem for the others :)
As they feel it difficult to identify the right one among them.

My sisters did it when they were younger. Sometimes the clothes were the exact same. Sometimes they were idfferent colors. I don't remember them ever complaining about it.

I think it's cute until a certain age like until first grade. I use to dress my girls alike and they are 2 years apart.

I think that this is cute occasionally like when you have pictures or going out. My own feelings are that identicle twins are hard to tell apart therefore should be dressed differently, that way people can tell them apart. Also they will have their own personalities. My dad and his brother are identicle twins and to this day still harass my grandma about dressing them alike. Most of them do not like this especially when they get older.

I don't mind seeing it ,since it kinda cute seeing identical twins with identical clothes.Anyway such stuff is only temporary since at such age they can't still choose for themselves. I had a friend who's daughter are identical twins, they usually quarrel if they had different stuff so what the mom do is have two pairs each of the personal stuff and school items for both twins. Now they are no longer quarreling everytime their buys them stuff. And also inorder to prevent Sibling Rivalry you must also provide both of the same stuff to your twins.

I am an identical twin and I hated being dressed the same as my sister. It felt like I had no identity of my own and everyone used to talk to us as a pair instead of individuals.
I would advise mothers of twins to never dress their children alike as it really messes them up later on in life.
