Yes, you should have called the police. This was evil and not very nice at all. He had no business letting the dog come on your property. I'm sorry you lost your cat.

I am very sorry for your loss. You were both wrong, he wrong to have his dog not under control, but so were you my friend, cats have to be under control just as a dog. I agree he needs to be reported to the police, next time it could be you or a child.

the dog owner was the one in the wrong. the cat was in the front lawn, therefore not causing any problems. so, the cat was under control. the dog was not

I disagree with you on one point. If the cat was in her yard how can that be the owners fault? The dog owner should have been watching his dog a little more seeing how the dog attacked the cat in the cats yard.

I would call the police. The dog obviously isnt on a leash and that should be against the law where you live. It is here in ny.

How dreadful, I am so sorry for the cruelty to your pet. If you can find the dog owner, ask neighbors or any one who might know who he/she is. I would then report them to the police, for animal cruelty an failing to control their dog.

Oh my gosh! I am so incredibly sorry to hear about your cat! You were so kind hearted to adopt him and take care of him through his illness, and I love the name that you gave him and the reasons behind it.. that is soo sweet!! ^_^ And then to have this happen.. especially to have that awful dog owner standing there laughing!!! Grr.. That really makes me sick to hear it, that that person could be so callous and not even care about what his dog had done to your poor kitty. I am so, so sorry for your loss and I hope that the responses that you receive on Mylot will help you to feel even a tiny bit better. I will be wishing you well and maybe one day you will have another cat who will mean as much to you as your Star did.

As most people opined here I will also say that you should have called the Police. Bulldog are dangerous. They are agressive and the owner of the dog should have been carefull. Just two days back I saw a report a pit bull killed a girl of 5 years. So the owner of these species should know how to control their dog otherwise the police should take the animal from the owner and send it to a proper authority who handles these species.

Sorry to hear your Cat Victim. Dog and cat have never been ending the fighting. Next life the dog will be killed by your cat. Hard to recover your emotion, but try to forget it slowly.

time of that kitten had arrived therefore you can't do anything to survive it... i can understand your feelings but you have to come out from this because time will not stop for anybody..you can't take her back.. the person who was laughing has abosolutely no sense. i think you should report in police for this.because next time same situation may arrive for your child or for you also!! take some serious action for this!!

what a cruel dog owner, if he liked what his dog did then he certainly doesnt love pets or else he would have taught his dog a lesson for this cruelity. you need to take serious action against him... his dog can be dngerous for other peoples pets as well and by initiating an action against this man you can ensure the security of other pets in the neighborhood.

I am sorry to hear that happened to your cat. The same thing happened to my cat a year ago. My cat was in my yard and 2 dogs came up and attacked her. I had to take her to the vet but she had to be put to sleep because the dogs tore her up so bad. Six months later the same dog attacked my other cat in my yard again and killed it. The dog owner wouldn't do anything about it so I called animal control. They picked up the dog but it still roams the neighborhood. I think you should report the dog to the authorities and see what can be done. As for your loss I'm sorry. Time heals a broken heart and maybe you can get another kitty later.

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I recently lost my cat too and he sort of adopted us. Anyway it gets easier everyday i have two other cats that have gotten lots of love recently. As for the owner of the dog i am not sure where you live but dogs must be on a leash here and if its a pit a muzzle as well report the incident to the police and take it from there. Take care

I'm so sorry for your loss. That must have been horrible for you. You definately should make a report to the police. Even if they can't do anything because it has been too long, they may catch the person letting it happen to someone else's cat. If you know the person I would especially make sure you call them. Good Luck I hope you feel better
