Oh gosh... I actually don't remember NOT being able to swim LOL We always had a pool in the backyard from the time I was very young and several of our friends and relatives also had them to we spent very waterlogged summers :) My mom used to call me a fish because I couldn't get enough of it! My dad was the biggest influence on teaching me to swim, though, because my mother was one of those ladies that just sort of walked around and dogpaddled ;) Even 'til this day, if we stay in a hotel or motel, it HAS to have a pool because the whole family doesn't consider it a vacation or getaway if swimming isn't involved.

It wasn't until I was 18 till I learnt to swim, I was actually taught by my best friend at the time, I was able to trust him and he was very patient with me. I had nearly drowned a few times and I was scared of the water until he decided to take me to our local baths and teach me. It was the best thing I've ever done. I love swimming now, although I don't go often.

I was about 5 when I first learned how to swim. I just imitated a move my brother made when he when underwater and got it after several attemps. After that my mom decided to enroll me in swimming classes at the Y near our house.

i first learned how to swim when i was 7 or 8 years old. my parents enrolled me in one of those sports clinics. i initially wanted to learn gymnastics but they told me it would be bettter for me if i learned how to swim. true enough, swimming helped me with asthma (it actually healed my asthma), and helped me stay fit and active for 10 years. it also helped me legally skip PE classes and those military trainings in school since i was part of the swim team back then.
