heck no, I don't want a spot close to the front. I park in the LAST spot away from the store and walk in. I own a minivan that is 5 years old and I don't have even ONE dent from someone's door. I hate door dings.

It depends on the weather and if I have the kid w/me. Usually if I am by myself I will park near the end.

Usually I start eyeing out the parking lot as I am pulling in. If I dont see much movement twards the front I just park and walk if it is not super cold. Often where I live (Chicago) it is under 30 degrees and I will drive around for a while so I dont have to walk real far in the cold. I would rather drive around for a few extra minutes then walk for a few extra seconds in the cold.

Most parking lots especially if they are crowded are not very truck friendly. I drive a 1 ton dually with a long box so that makes me pretty big. I drive waaaaaay to the end where no one else parks.

I do that too. Though if their isn't a spot up close, I'm not fussy about where I park anyway.

I have some problems walking but I still will not drive around looking for a spot to park. When i was working before I got to where I had to quit, I would go the fartherest parking and walk to the store. my niece, who is 8 years younger than me, has a friend who is about her(about54) who will drive for an hour to find a place real close to the door. Her problem ,pure and simple, is laziness. Or it was til about 6 months ago when she had some problems with her leg springing a leak of blood due to swelling. She had gained a lot of weight in about a year. Now I will still walk but sometimes I can walk a short distance and have to stand still til i can convince my legs it is time to go on. Other times I can walk a lot farther but when it hits ,it hits and then I have to stop when I have walked like even half way across a street.
