Why Does MyLot Pay Users for rubbish content?

It's nice that MyLot pays it's users for posting in the first place, but why are they paying users for posting rubbish?
It's my understanding that MyLot is a site to come to for posting discussions, getting acquainted with other users with the same interests, learning things that you don't already know, and to help other users with problems or concerns that they might have ...
I don't believe that MyLot intends for users to take advantage of them by posting rubbish just to earn money.
Maybe MyLot allows all types of posting from it's users in exchange for viewing all of the advertisements at the top of every page ... what do you think?

I don't like seeing that either. Hopefully even if they are paying for that junk they are paying less than they do for higher quality. A couple of times recently, when I have seen a post that has nothing to do with the topic of the discussion, I have hit the exclamation point to report them for abuse. I think it's important that we keep trying to keep our content of great quality. Hopefully we will all prevail!

Looks like users have to put up with whatever is posted for now doesn't it?
Before you know it someone will ask why the sky is blue or why women are women or why men are men if they haven't already LOL LOL

Everyone get pay in mylot. As they don't break any rule that mylot have. You should be wise on this. This kind of discussion already being posting several times. For what? I think we should be honest. We come here for what we call $$ and sharing some problem that we have. Now it's depend on you, response that or not. If you think that rubbish don't respond it. If not, let we discuss it. And make solution. Simple, is'nt it?

MyLot has asked its members to report what they feel is abuse of the system. If you come across content that is rubbish or that is clearly a copy and paste effort of someone to increase his/her earnings, please report them by using the exclamation mark. Then you type your concern when the box comes up.
MyLot wishes to increase quality discussions and finally be rid of the non-sensical discussions that have been prevelant in the past.
Also if you are getting one or two word responses, do the same. Also if they are clearly doing a copy and paste in the response you should report it as abuse.
Welcome to MyLot. Enjoy.

Well, the thing is, they don't tolerate it. They delete hundreds, if not thousands, of spam posts a day. Everytime you see a rubbish post, just hit the "!" to the right of it. Mylot will check it out, then delete it. If you don't like rubbish posts, than will you do that as much as possible. I also, don't like rubbish posts.

Please don't thank this person. This three word response which does nothing to enhance the discussion is part of the problem. Anyone who thinks answering a discussion with "Don't know" is okay has obviously not read the guidelines of the site.

I thought these types of responses were not allowed? I am a 'newbie' and so very confused.

Mylot cannot supervise 53000 members' activities and they do have some methods whereby they can disallow payments for certain discussion topics and certain responses. They also rely on members to help them out in identifying such undesirable activities, so that they can take necessary actions.

i think you will find that the rubbish postings do not get paid at all, o9ne of the things mylot have done very well is cut down on weak postings to weak discussions and it is slowly getting better, we dont see as many of the coke or pepsy questions anymore
keep on posting

The idea behind my lot is quite intriguing in my opinion. Because the greater number of comments you make, the great earnings your receive. That implies that greater rubbish would be posted. there are lot of users whose sole intention is making money and not participating in discussions.

IF MYLOT STARTS DISTINGUISHING QUE AS RUBBISH OR NOT,IT WILL BE QUITE DIFFICULT FOR IT 2 HANDLE.

myLot may allow people from posting rubbish content here but myLot doesnt pay users who post rubbish on the site. So for all the people who just post for money , Dont.
It is not worth it. Instead , try doing some research on that topic or try replying in terms of quality rather than just for the sake of it.

i don't think mylot pays for rubbish posts, there are mods who clean up all the mess and delete all those rubbish posts as soon as they find them and hence the earnings decrease accordingly

Actually they don't pay for rubbish, if they catch the posters they take their earnings away for those discussions. The problem is they only have so many people working at mylot would be my guess that they can't monitor ever thread on their own. That's why if you see a complete rubbish thread, hit the ! and report it to help them stop the abusers.

It's good to know that they don't pay for rubbish, but it appeared that they did. Until I found out what the exclaimation mark was for I was unsure about MyLot in general. Thanks for your response ;)

I think MyLot have enough money to distribute among those. They can't carry the burden of money..---Just joking..
There is some algorithm based on which the calculations are done by MyLot and the payments are done respectively.
