I'm a fan though I have only been to 2 concerts. But I have also been a member of the fanclub for the past 5 years. And you should go to murmurs.com to visit the largest fansite on R.E.M on the net. And if you register for free there are lots of downloads available.

I like "man on the moon", "the great beyond", "what's the frequency, kenneth?" and many more!;) I like the voice of Michael Stipe, he's got a unique talent for singing!;)

in 1995 i had the great privallage of seeing rem in concert on the monster tour when they came to my town in England, they were amazing and ended the concert with its the end of the world as we know it, my favourite track

I like their older music when they were considered "college rock". I thought Monster was a bad album, but overall REM is an awesome band. I think they should probably retired while they're ahead though.
