I love dogs, cats, goldfish, and birds. But my pet of preference is a cat, or in my case, several cats! They are relatively quiet, go to the bathroom in a box, sleep a lot, like to snuggle, and they pace themselves on their eating and drinking. To me, they are the ideal pet. I love dogs, but at this point in my life, they are a little too high maintenance, kind of like having a child.

I like both. They're both completely different. It depends what you're looking for in a pet.

I prefer a dog. There seems to be more you can do to interact with a dog. Cats seem to be self-centered, a dog is attentive to you. A dog forgives every mistake you make with them, a cat seems to hold a grudge and refuse to allow you to pet them if they think you have done something wrong. Dogs show their love and affection simply by wagging their tails; you always know how you rate with a dog.

I love dogs and I prefer to have a dog than a cat. Cat's are cute but they're not my type of pet.

Dog is a man's best friend, so if you look for that, definitely a dog. A cat is a great little pet that makes your home more complete and warm, and is great for children to be aware that there are other creatures in the world, that need our care and attention, that need to be looked after, and that we should not mistreat them and give them a heart time, so if having a cat is not a problem for the dog you should get one too, and be a good master, if we can say that the cat has one.
