I have cheered for ginebra since I was young. I used to cry back then. Besides the never say die attitude, I love the intensity they bring to the game. Go barangay Ginebra! They will win the next conference. I bet you.

I've liked Ginebra ever since I was a young girl.. My grandfather, my father, and my uncles were big PBA fans thats why I grew up seeing it on TV.. My Papa was, of course, a big Ginebra fan thats why I also became one.. His idol was Robert Jaworski.. and even though Jawo is no longer with Ginebra, it's still my favorite team.. and my husband's favorite as well..

I liked the Ginebra team since I was a toddler, during their Anejo Rum 65 days with Rudy Distrito, Chito and Joey Loyzaga, Romulo Mamaril and the rest of the guys. They are the only team that can fill ULTRA to the rafters every game day. I cannot forget the 1991 All Filipino where they beat Shell (lead by Ronnie Magsanoc and Benjie Paras) from a 1-3 deficit on a best-of-seven series on hellova shot of Rusy Distrito in the dying seconds. That personified the NEVER SAY DIE SPIRIT under coach Sonny Jaworski.
Come 1996, they have a new core with Marlou Aquino, Bal David, Noli Locsin, Vince Hizon, EJ Feihl, Jayvee Gayoso, Benny Cheng, Wilmer Ong, Macky de Joya, Pido Jarencio coach by Sonny Jaworski bannering the name GINEBRA SAN MIGUEL. They failed to reach the first 2 conference finals that season due to knockout losses but in the last conference of the year which is the Governor's Cup, they were able to reach the finals against Alaska Milk, only to lose the series, 4-1. 1997 they chnaged the team name to Gordon's Gin Boars with the same core except for EJ Feihl. They added veteran Terry Saldana and amateur standout Mike Orquillas to the line up. They reached the finals of the All-Filipino Cup but lost to Purefoods, 4-2. The 1997 Commissioner's Cup started for Gordon's Gin with fresh from college Tyrone Hopkins as an import (the shortest at 6'4") but was a high flyer. After he won the slam dunk contest in the 1997 All-Star with Mike Orquillas, he was replaced by NBA veteran Chris King who eventually leads them to the double-overtime win against San Miguel for the right to face the Alaska Milkmen in the finals. The Boars geared up to a 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 series however Chris King pulled his hamstring in Game 3 but they are able to recover to win the game on a heroic 3-point shot by King and led in winning the series, 4-2, winning the franchise's first title since 1991.
