Was ICC unfair to Inzamam and let Hair escape scotfree?

I think ICC was definitely unfair to Inzamam, though I have often felt that he is too arrogant. I dont think he deserved the 4 ODI match ban slapped on him, while hair got away without any punishment/fine.However, none of the countries participating in the Challenger trophy want him. There is also resistance from Sri Lanka. So we wont be seeing him officiate in the subcontinental matches.I have often suspected him of being high-brow and racist.

ICC has mostly been biased towards england and australia. Now this should be changed.

right! This situation, I hope will change. You can see it in the replays of old matches - with many borderline decisions going in their favour. Of course, most umpires are really above board and meticulous in their decisions.

True, that is one part of the story! But simply declaring 5 extra runs to a team because you think Pak are ball tampering is inexcusable. Whatever the punishment, it should have been slapped on Inzy after discussion with the match referee and other higher ups in ICC, and after having a complete video replay of the game to get evidence of actual ball tampering. Reports indicate there was no visible ball tampering done in the oval test by Pakistan.

he is a good player... missing 4 matches is very important in the case of a player of his standard... well he will cope and come out better later... no doubts...

How could you say that pakistani's are prone to ball tempering. In my view Injamam got out of this mess very easily.

A lot has been said about the now famous "Oval Fiasco". Passion & partisan attitudes aside - my view is that Hair did his umpiring to the best of his ability but diplomacy is not his forte. Very difficult to attach racist overtones to this episode.
