I have discovered the real reason for our water shortage....Water Drinkers....I have recently been talked into the modern trend of drinking water, oh I see all these people walking around with their water bottles, it is the latest fashion, well for 4 days now I have been drinking water maybe not as much as I should but I am getting there, well drinking water makes you go to the toilet many many more times than normal, so add up all the people who are on this water bottle kick, the amount of times they all go to the toilet enr on a half flush that is a lot of water.....what do you think could I get an award for figuring that out....maybe a cut on my water bill...?????? :)

lilaclady, I think a cut on your water bill is what you deserve after such a great thought! And yes I am one of the guilty ones who tries to drink a lot of water and if I am out it becomes quite annoying as most of my time seems to be spent you know where. lol But at home with just the 2 of us now I have cut down on the flushes as it is not always necessary!

Alas lilaclady I too have to admit to being another of those inconsiderate water drinkers. However sometimes when we are away from home I can use the public loos, which saves us some water at home. LOL
Actually not sure which is worse for our water usage, the actual plain water we drink of that to which we add some coffee etc. Don't worry too much about contacting the water board about my bill though as we are on bore water and that isn't metered for domestic use. :)
I do like your thinking though and perhaps you should also write a letter to your local MP suggesting that they might like to review the legislation about how often people can flush in a day.

I'm with Caramello on this one - don't flush unless you HAVE to - I have just talked my husband into seeing the logic of this - its taken a while but now he is also happy with it.
I also gather all the kitchen water in a square bucket sitting inthe sink and that has kept my garden flourishing during this drought.

Its fashionable these days finding people taking much water. it improves waste handling and also your health. I find mor people doing it these days. i have not tried it though but will give it a trial.

I wish I could drink it but I just don't think much of it so I will help with the water shortage and just not drink it...hahahahahah

That was one keen observation. It made me smile though at the wisdom of your observation. I don't drink too much mineral water because we have a fountain in the dorm. But i'm guilty of drinking too much because I can't last an hour without water. Okay, next time I'll use tabo to flush the toilet so it would be economical. :P
