remember the mystery of the motorbikes that were stolen then returned ,well tonight we had the surveillance camera set up i went to make a coffee and when i returned 1 of the bikes were gone ,i raced to tell my son and just as he got outside he saw a boy going down the drive on the other bike . Well then it was full on , i rang the police and my son took off in his car after them. My daughter-in -law and my husband jumped in another car and took off after my son . They lost the boys on the bike. I i was out the front waiting for the police and i could hear the motorbikes at the salt pans just near us. MY son came back and heard the bikes so went down to the salt pans looking for them , the next thing i know my hubby came back they had found one bike a boy had fallen off just a couple of streets from us,he had injured his leg .The police arrived ,questioned the boy and he has been charged. The other bike was still missing it belonged to my 7 year old grandson. They drove around and found there was a party down the beach with about 40 kids aged around 14 to 16, they were all drunk and it turned out they had the other bike and had hidden it behind the shop. So we have both bikes back .All the kids at the beach were rounded up by police details taken and parents rang. The police have just left our house and they have charged 5 boys with theft and they told the parents that they have to pay for the damage to the bikes. We have video of 2 boys taking the bikes and 4 boys standing in our garage and drive and helping push the bikes. While all this was going on i copied the tape so we have a copy and we gave a copy to police. All the kids at the beach are in trouble for underage drinking in a public place. Most of the kids had a ride on the bike as they all dobbed on each other they were so scared.

Thank goodness you had that security camera set up rosebug or you would never have caught these thieves, because that is what they are. What a night the police had and I bet they were busy for a long time talking to these kids and their parents. It is good that the parents are going to pay for the damage they caused to the bikes and hopefully they will also make their children work to repay them for what it cost the parents.
I am so pleased that you got the bikes back and that some of the kids dobbed on others. Maybe in future they will all think twice about what they have done and let's hope the magistrate/judge doesn't let them off with a slap on the wrist. In some states offenders have to meet with the victims to hear what sort of impact the offenders' actions had on the victim. It is a system that I like because it does make these stupid kids think about what they have done.
It is unfortunate that one of the kids was injured but hopefully it isn't too serious. However, without wanting to sound like I have no compassion, if he hadn't stolen the bike in the first place he wouldn't have been injured. Added to which they are all under legal drinking age and if he had not been drinking then there is a high likelihood he wouldn't have had an accident and fallen off the bike.

One of the boys involved came to our house yesterday afternoon with his parents, they made him come to apologise and to let us know that although he was not one of the boys identified, his parents heard about everything that had happened questioned their son and he admitted to stealing the bikes on all three occasions .the parents rang the police and told them about their son and they had an appointment at the police station late yesterday. They told us their son has done this type of thing before and they were at a lost what to do with him. They are going to pay for the damage and make their son work it off in the family business.we felt so sorry for his parents, they are really nice genuine people

WoW! i say you did have some excitement! I am just glad you got your bikes back. It is a shame kids have to steal and drinking at a young age what in the world was they thinking I bet they will be grounded for a long time. I hope the ones who were drinking get community service for a few hundred hours maybe that will straighten them out some and make them think before they drink next time.

So glad that you got it all sorted out.
Maybe next time you need to type so much information in, you might consider putting a couple of spaces in between the information.
It would make it easier to read.

It's nice to see that these kids will be made to take responsibility for their actions. Too many times they just get off with a little slap on the wrist and a laugh. Maybe this will make them stop and think before they do something so stupid next time. The parents of the kid involved who reported him to the police should be commended for their action. More parents should be like this. Glad it all worked out for you.

Goodness, what were those kids thinking about. I bet each one
of them, probably has a bike of his own. I would have just enjoyed being on the beach with my friends. Why is it that
this new generation just never seems to be satisfied. They always seem to want to go a step further. What happened to
counting your blessing. A young, healthy band of friends, out on the beach for the evening, you would think they would be satisfied...I just don't get it...SS

I'm glad that everything worked out in the end. I hope that this will teach those boys a lesson. I also hope that this will teach you a lesson. Keep the motorbikes locked up from now on. The kids were thinking that this was harmess fun, but as it turned out, their parents are going to be paying the price for their fun, in leagal fees, and court costs, and fines. What fun.

Can you tell me more about the motorbike? Because I'm a huge fan of them and this made me a little bit curious. How did they manage to start the bike? what brand was the bike? Did he knew what he was doing when it comes to ridding it?
There a lot of people that do thing's like this just foru fun and that's a very stupid thing do you agree with me?

Hi,
Under such circumstances, in India police will not charge. They will look up to find out who the underage children are and hush up the matter.
Do you have any political influence to charge such children ?Or in your place law will take it's own course in normal circumstances ?
I wish to appreciate your police who have attended to your complaint immediately.
My good wishes to you to get solved the problem in shortest possible time.

This will work in your country though not in U.K. with political correctness going mad, you would get arrested in U.K. for this by depriving these kids of their human rights by not informing them of taking the photographs and getting their permission in advance, also if the child had fallen off the bike by being chased you could get charged with assault, and also sued by this young criminal.
Seems that in U.K. the rights of the criminals are higher than the rights of the victims. The police here would also want to know why your bikes were not secured, allowing the criminals to take your bike and have an accident with it.
