well, the best way to fix that little fear, put on a life jacket. then go out and have some fun. my dad and i rebuilt a bota he got. redid the fiberglass, all that. i only got to go out in it once. it was an old boat, but it was a bit fun working on it. the motor on it was a wee bit too powerful for it. when he gunned the motor, the bow lifted up so high you couldn't see over it until it started planing better.

well, last time i saw it it worked fine. if you would like to know the whereabouts of it right now, just ask SKSOUTH about the red and white 13 footer. he can tell you. that is my father. i think he might have sold it. he has been using his aluminum bass boat recently

Personally, I prefer to go fishing on my boat. The reason I like it is because you can look for the fish instead of just casting your reel in the water in hope of catching a fish. I guess the main reason I like to go out in my boat is because I don't have to carry any equipment to move from one spot to another, as in fishing from shore. When You move to another spot, you just turn on your motor and leave.

a very good point. i remember fishing on the jetty at surfside in tx, and we would have to haul all of our stuff more than 1000 yds just to get to a decent spot!!

Boat...I had to fish from shore for many years, and rarely caught anything...now I fish from a boat and always come back with my limit.

Yeah, it's really harder to catch anything from shore, it's only worth going for it for the company, as far as my opinion is concerned. Having your own boat and going until your limits can go is more productive.

I have fished the west coast and the montana strems that are know for the good fishing and i have come to a conclusion that
i have more fun an a boat and catch more fish than the shore
and docks. In the boat you can go many places and fish many diferent ways and have some good american fun

I think anything goes, as far as I'm concerned. From the the shore you know you'll be bound to capture less and only certain kinds of fish, but it might be more fun, relaxing by sitting alongside with a bunch of friends and talking meanwhile. Going onto a dock or jettie in further seas is always more exhaustive, professional and demands a bigger effort from you. But if you really like fihsing, you fish it in whatever way the sea wants you to.

Boat and go out on the water. Sometimes if the river is not too deep, we just tie the boat and get into the water. It's really fun. I didn't like it at first, but last summer fun made me want to do it again this year.

Well, I haven't really responded to your discussions because I'm not much of a fisherman, mainly because I usually got bored when I went, but I tried flyfishing once and liked standing in the water! It was the best fishing experience I've had, which is very few!
