Are there websites where you can write novels/novelettes for competitions or fun

I know there is NaNoWriMo but you can only do that in November. Are there other sites like this. I've got my poetry at poets.com and that's fun but I'd like to do more writing.

Have you checked out gather.com ? They are promoting a huge novel writing contest right now.

Check out FFW and FFW Jr., these two newsletters by Hope Clark list various contests. Also check out http://www.writersdigest.com, that should help you out some. There are many contests out there for a variety of materials. Also, you can publish your writing on Associated Content. They pay for articles, but you can post your poetry on your page also. http://www.associatedcontent.com/join.html?refer=15512
