Do you have a cooking specialty?

I love cooking. I'm an excellent baker. That's probably my specialty. There are some things, try as I might, that I just can't cook, though. I'm horrible at frying bacon, and I just cannot make decent mac 'n cheese. But baking...that's where I shine.

I absolutely hate cooking, it's a kind of 'can't cook, won't cook' although there is one thing that I do love to cook, well, it's not really cooking as such and that is omelettes. I love omelettes, my favourite is cheese and onion with ham. They turn out real well and I love experimenting with different ingredients. I have even done a salmon and asparagus omelette for a friend for his tea and it went down well.

I like to cook sometimes, not all the time. When I do cook I MUST have the kitchen to myself too. I enjoy cooking the meat for the meal more than anything else. Desserts are fun when I am in a baking mood. I get in a cooking mood when lots of people are going to be to eat or if I am taking a dish to a party. The rest of the time I am just foraging for food not really having to plan anything.

YES I DO :) I specialize in Desserts :) A few weeks ago my sis and I were talking with 2 friends. The 2 friends said they were great at cooking but not at baking dessert. My sis and I are great at baking but not at cooking meals. I can cook, but I have to follow a recipe exactly in order to get it right! My sis and I love desserts, so it makes sense that we can cook them :) The 2 friends were more into a good meal than dessert, so it makes sense there to.
I also hate interruptions and I often will stop and wait for the person to be done making their snack. The main reason I hate interruptions though, is because I hate people taking samples! Like if I'm making cookies and they steal some chocolate chips. That's annoying :( Or people who come around and start asking about the steps you are following right in the middle of it all. Like arg, I'm busy!
Overall, cooked meals and dessert are better than pre-made, no matter how good or bad I am at it :)

I wouldn't really say that I have a specialty, but I know that I make some pretty tasty quesadillas and nachos. Does that mean I specialize in Mexican food? I know that my favorite dish to make is chicken tacos, with this nice spicy seasoning that I use when I cook up the chicken. It is making me hungry just to think about them!

I would say my specialty is vegetarian. I really enjoy trying new recipes. I have do prefer cooking meals rather than baking. You don't have to be as precise and you have more of a chance to change around ingredients.
