Why do some of you cat owners out there think it's ok to let them poo and pee in my garden?? There's nothing worse than coming across one of the buried treasures one of your little darlings has left for me. I don't get it.

cats are free-ranging animals and by law can go where they like, id like to see an owner trying to tell any cat where to go, it will not listen

Yeah, you can't tell a cat where to go when they are outside. They do prefer places though, so you could change your soil if you really think it is that big of a deal.

Personaly I think that cats should have laws about keeping them confined the same as dogs in fact I think they do people just believe they don't .I think if a cat destroys are messes anothers property up they are just as liable as if it was a dog if you cann't take respouncabilty for a pet don't own one .

its different for cats than for dogs , dog owners are generally of lower intelligence or interbred and are therefore not to be trusted.

i love gardening as well, also ive four cats, its impossable to stop them.i can give you a few tips,if you keep the grass short they wont do poos on it,they like long grass. dont laugh at this, human male pee puts them off,so if you see them peeing ,go out and pee over the top, that stops them!watch out 4 the neighbours though.

I agree with you on the human pee and again don't laugh but I myself have done this around my property and this is to keep the coyotes away, especially away from the barn area.

"watch out 4 the neighbours though." That's the funniest advice I've ever seen!

Make a small sand pit, they'll poop there instead lol You're right, I agree with you. Here in the states, you could just call up animal control and they'll catch the cat and pound him. Owner could face a fine as well. I know there's some "natural remedies" you can put out, or even at the pet store they sell stuff to sprinkle or spray around. Not sure if that works though. The pee idea's funny lol. Although I think I'd have a hard time eating anything out of the garden knowing my fiancee just pissed on it lol....

I have six cats that go outside during day. Fortunately we have lots of woods in back and they usually go there or in "my" garden. But I understand and am sympathic to your problem. My neighbor bought a new, very expensive car and expressed concern about my cats getting on it. I bought product from the store that is a cat repellant. I usually try to go the natural route, but I don't think my neighbor wanted me or husband peeing around her car!!!!! I think the repellant worked. Did it every other day for a couple weeks and they don't even go over to it anymore.
