Do you have anyone "famous" from where you live?

John MacCrae was born in Guelph Ontario Canada. Those who are familliar with the famous WWI poem "In Flanders Fields" would know who he is. His house on Water Street near where I live was turned into a museum. My mother was born in Odense Denmark, where Hans Christian Andersen was born. His house is also a museum. I've been there.

Well, Jimmy Stewart was from the town just up the road from me, so he's from my county :) Every year, the whole town makes such a huge deal about It's A Wonderful Life! lol! I used to live near Jamestown, NY which is where Lucille Ball is from. I think that's about it!

George Foreman is my homeboy, so you don't want to make me mad. I now live in Las Vegas, so Andre Agassi is our boy here. Of course, millionaires are made and lost every day in this town, but they don't always become famous - It's just another day in the neighborhood.

I grew up across the street from the Emily Dickinson estate.

No one that I know of was orginally from here. But I know two people that live here now. Patty Duke has lived here for a long time... And that guy that starred in NYBD Blue...what was his name?? lol shoot! Okay had to go look it up lol Dennis Franz lives here. lol

I am from the Philippines. Some of the Filipinos (and part-Filipinos) who made it big internationally are: Lea Salonga (Tony Award winner; starred in Broadway musicals "Miss Saigon" and "Les Miserables") APL de Ap (of the Black Eyed Peas) Nicole (of Pussycat Dolls) Rob Schneider ("The Animal", "Deuce Bigalow", etc.) Lou Diamond Phillips Monique Lhullier (fashion designer based in the US) Tia Carrere Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao (boxing champ) Billy Crawford (pop star in the UK) ...not sure of his name but he played as the kid nemesis of Peter Pan in the movie "Hook" and also starred in the movie "Take The Lead" with Antonio Banderas ... that's just to name a few...

Well, I suppose the most famous person (who you'd have heard of) would be Lady Godiva, she lived in Coventry, which is the city nearest to my little town, there's also Pete Waterman, the record producer from Stock, Aitkin and Waterman (The ones who got Kylie started), then there's George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans), the author of things such as 'The Mill on the Floss' and 'Middlemarch', she actually lived between Nuneaton and Bedworth (that's the borough I live in), and someone you've probably never heard of, but he's famous here is Larry Grayson, he was from Nuneaton, one of his catchphrases was 'Shut that door!' Oh and there's Pete Docherty, the one that's dating Kate Moss, he used to be in a band called 'Babyshambles', he went to school in Bedworth. That's all I can think of at the moment, if I think of any more, I'll stick them here. :)

The only people that I know that was from this area were players in the National Football League. We have Rich Gannon who played for the Raiders and we had Steve Watson a long time ago who played with the Broncos.

I have alot of famous rappers that live in my home town. And also Britney spears is from around where I live.

My town is the birthplace of Frank Sinatra. The filmmaker John Sayles has lived here for many years (Eight Men Out, Lone Star, etc.); my U.S. senator lives in town, too, as does the governor of my state, who lives two blocks away from me.

Unfortunately, OJ Simpson played for our football team, the Buffalo Bills, and is well-known as our star quarterback. He was not from Buffalo, but is very much associated with our city.

U2 hav made it famous in Ireland so hav many others. many important people live in ireland. i like people from my coutry and other countries as they are important and coll in every way like lepracauns they r so cool and green

Patrick Stewart who plays Jean-Luc Picard in star trek tng comes from a town not far from where I grew up.

well i am from the capital of India.Its difficult to tell all name of the personalities who lives in my city.Its just uncountable.But yes i meet many of them in my college function or concerts which happens inmy city.its great to meet the celebraties.

We have a lot of people from this area. Michael Keaton who comes home to visit often and goes to Pirate games.Sharon Stone was born a couple hours from here in Meadville.CMU has schooled a lot of stars.

I don't think there are many celebrities from my area. I know of a couple... one being Jermaine Taylor. (The boxer) And President Clinton. Other than that, I grew up about 20 minutes from the town Sheryl Crow grew up. So that was always cool. =P

only famous from were i live is Tony Steward the nascar driver.hes number 1 in my town an i have seen him 1 time at a pet store.

Well there used to be classical singer who used to reside in my Colony but after he got really famous he left from the Society to a better off society :(
