Definitely. Why this doubt came.
I'm happy to respond these kind of simple questions. When the questions are asked which has some personal or intimate touch, I feel like talking with our true friends. Though my favorite topics are science and politics, I'm happy to share my personal view on so many issues like this with the international community, thanks to mylot for offering such site and space.

Why do you think their are few Men Vs Women games at top level, it's because you men are to afraid to lose this non-earned state of belief you're the best in sports. ;)

dear lackingstyle, this is not about 'sports'. It is about'sportingspirit' or 'sportsmanship'. It means to show your capacity to take things lightly, to laugh of any jokes on you or teasing.

I understand perfectly from your many reponses what you originally intended and refered to that in my own reponse. Yet the initial comment I replied refered 'girls' not being up to the mark and henceforce the logic in the non-serious reponse of mine.

In general it is true, however I have seen 1 or 2 exceptions too. What I feel is it depends on the process of socialization. I mean the way an individual is brought up. Very rare cases are there, where an individual may spring up against the surrounding and show a special / exceptional kind of behaviour.
Thus, I cannot say that girls are less sportive thaan boys.

Youre right, there will always be exceptions to the rule! That does not mean that the generality should be ignored. What is meant here by 'sportive' is 'having sportsmanship', especially regarding 'leg-pulling', or 'teasing' in a friendly way.

Definitely, Girls are less sportive because of their physical strength and tends react very easily for emotional behaviour. If they feels second to boy, immediately they their way differently and feel themselves as No.1. So you are 100% correct.

To name a few, how was the spirit of Zidane at this years football World Cup, or Rooney and Ronaldo and in particular mens' tennis!
How many times have the top stars thrown a hissy-fit over a ball being judged as in/out respectively. I can't think of a similiar event I have witnessed within the womens field of sports, care to enlighten me?

I don't think so. I just think boys are pushed more into sports then other activities. Plus it is a good outlet for their natural agression and energy. But I have known many girls that are great at sports and are very athletic.

dear 4monsters4me, I meant 'sportive' in the sense that do they have sportsmanship? that is , do they take things lightly for when others pull their legs or they get a raw deal...

I haven't seen a difference in sportsmanship between the sexes--just that the guys seem to show it more or care more about it. I guess that is the difference, then. Many women don't have sports as the number one thing in their life so it isn't as important to them as it is with men (who seem to have an all or none attitude). I'm not sure if that has to do with natural tendencies or the way people are brought up to think that boys should be interested in only sports instead of other outlets (like crafts or arts).
