If the proper management would take care of these situations when they happen, it would be a great help. And if they would sufficiently punish the ones who give the hard times to the reporting staff. After all, the reporting staff is going out on a limb, knowing of possible harrassment coming back. I think State Surveys should be done every few months, rather than every year, even though if my coworkers knew I felt this way, they would shun me. But, at least it would keep things running the way they should be. When state is due to come, you should see the way they all run around like chickens with their heads cut off, to right all the wrongs that they've let go.

I think they could brighten them up alot more. I mean as fas as music and color . I think they need employees who do not steal.
The screenings could be alot better.

They DO screen, but unfortunately people lie. If situations are reported to the authorities, they can't lie. But if it's failed to be reported...they can lie all they want. When a person gets in a situation at my work, they are given a quit or get fired option. If they quit, it's not reported. If they get fired, it is. I personally don't agree with this type of arrangement. Do you?

Good topic, but sad. It happen, becasue most of those patients are old and abondoned by their kids. Kids should at lest be involved and check on their parents. I will never let my parents to be in nursing home. It is proven that they are better by staying in own house with limited help.

I agrree if it is at all possible. It is the best thing to do. I hope this area is to become more advanced and more funded. I think there needs to be more regular checks on all this.
