Really tired of this discussion issue!!!

Ya know. I'm getting really tired of posting here...QUALITY posts, mind you. While some other idiot who normally posts 2 or 3 word sentences has TWO topic discussions with 20+ responses. My responses? 5. Your responses? 5. OR LESS. WTH? Have these people figured out a way to cheat the system through keywords? Their discussions are obviously getting seen more often thus getting more replies. I'm basically venting because I sign in here everyday, eager to see the new replies and chat with people, but THERE ARE NO REPLIES! O.o
I can only think that it's because they're not getting seen by many people. Because I know 90% of the people in Mylot are good quality posters. So what are they doing? Putting irrelevant keywords on their discussions??

relax...u can't fight out the whole system..i have seen it myself..u post a topic like wht is ur fav colour u get 20-30 responses..and then u post a serious topic like if nuclear energy is going to replace petrol in gas station, u get max 4-5 replies and tht too disappears fast from the today's top discussion forum..but we can't beat tht right..
so don't let this thing affect u or the quality post ur putting till now,..because gud things generally take time...hope u meet some really deep thinkers on the way..even though u get a few response it doesn't matter..the quality, depth of the response should be good..well tht's all, have fun and don't take it heart if u don't get too many response..hope tht helps..

I don't think most people search by keywords, as long as a post is getting responses it remains at the top of one of the lists on here and gets more replies, it's a cycle I guess. I don't have a lot of luck with discussions having a lot of responses myself.

I go through the same problem. Maybe you need to stop posting discussions and just reply to other peoples discussions.
Something like this should be fun, not frustrating.

Mostly I do. I respond to other's discussions. But, sometimes, I would like to start a discussion about something of interest to me, and see others' opinions to it. But, after a week of watching the discussions, it's got a total of 4 or 5 replies. I can't help but think it's because I'm actually using the keywords as they're supposed to be used. If someone were to start a discussion and use irrelevant keywords just to gain popularity, it would be easy to do. (If Mylot admins don't catch it). Idk, maybe I'm out of my mind! Lol. Maybe there's some kind of clout system that we know nothing about. The more points you have, the more your discussions get "listed." Who knows?? Lol

I feel your concern, i noticed it too. I think the answer to the question on why those 2 or 3 word sentence topic got more attention and replies compared to other longer and quality topic goes down to keywords or tags. People find our topics in several ways, in discussions...featured, recent, todays discussion, new, etc. Another way of how people find our topics by searching using keywords or tag, that's way its important to consider what keyword or tag you use to best describe your topic inorder for you to be seen =)

I've experienced the same problem before. I just reply to other members post and believe it or not I am earning more than creating a new thread. Sometimes the system here confuses me, but when I see my earnings increases I omit the "confused" and just go on. I am not sure about the keyword cheat, I always add keyword associated to the discussion.

I know just since yesterday, we jumped from 54,000+ to over 55,000 members. Some people post a discussion every minute! I can't even think that fast! There is just NO Way to read all of the discussions! If one of your discussions has dropped down in the lists, to bring it back up to the top with a better chance of being seen, go into it and see if there is one person you can respond to their answer...that counts as a comment...you don't get paid for it, but it bumps the discussion back up to current or to new so maybe someone new will see it and join in.

I feel the same. There are a few people on here, and I only know of a few, that actually post interesting things to comment to and we do. But the responses are always low. I have posted a few, and I just tested the system by asking "How many TVs do you have?". It is not a very practical discussion topic, but I thought, WTF, lets try.I'll check back later and see how it did.
Keep in touch and we can discuss, and I will check out your site. Sounds interesting.

I hear ya Ambur. I just started a discussion about basically the same thing. It's really frustrating when you see an intelligent discussion thread receive only 1 or 2 posts and then something completely moronic like "do u like movies?", gets 500. Just keep posting the good discussions and those of us who are interested in intelligent discussion will find you

I tend to post a plethora of topics, some get some attention and some really don't. Sometimes it is not what you say in your dicussions but how you say it. And sometimes there is the feeling that there is nothing more to be added to a discussion after reading the responses. I know sometimes when discussions have responses that mirror my feelings exactly and I have nothing to add to the discussion that I just move on.

I understand how you feel. I did join a forum a year back, I quite enjoy stayin in that forum, but sometimes when I wrote a lot, nobody would comment. Then I realize that people usually like to read and comment on simple & short responses, they do not need to spend long time to read the long "articles". Another reason is the topic. Perhaps some people like to talk about something more relaxing, but not so serious topics. Different people do have different thoughts, we can't expect others think the same as us. I'll just post what I want to write, but can't expect others to respond as I like. ^_^
As in mylot, perhaps there are too many discussions, I am not able to read all the discussions. Usually I only read the topics under my interests, but there are already a lot to read. And, I haven't set up all my interests yet. :p There are a lot....

well, lucky me, my first post had acquired me 52 responses, and my eyes are popping out reading all of it and commenting on it. but i guess, responding to other's discussion is better. just an idea though, better luck next time on next post.

honestly i think they are starting their discussions in places where the most people will see them... there are over 500 people who will see it if you post it in mylot rather then under watching tv therefore they make it a little about mylot and more about what the really wanted... however to those who really make good quality answers you will still be paid more for your quality answers than they ever were for 1 or 2 word posts... you just have to be patient... i have been here nearly a week now and only made $3 dollars whereas the cheaters have probably made 10+ but at the end of the day i know i am earning mine the proper way and not by cheating or spamming

yeah i know the feeling ive only had one post really get that much attention and id love to see another one do the same but im not sure if its something with how mylot is set up or what that gets these stupid posts seen more then posts that are actually something somewhat interesting.
