I like when my old discussions get new responses!

Isn't it swell when discussions you've posted a week or a month ago suddenly get new responses? I suspect some of this happens when my unanswered posts make it to the Brain Busters section, but what about discussions with responses? It must be because people have posted to discussions with the same tags as mine and clicked on those tags. Has this happened to you?

It's where threads go when unanswered for one week.

I've often found discussions relating to my interest by searching of a certain word. I've been hesitant about posting to them in all honesty, though I can see it being beneficial providing one is actually answering the question.

I think it possibly happens because of the similiarity in tags and/or also because some new members going through old pages looking to see what has happened. I have only been a member for a few days and have commented on old topics already.

You are right...the tag that will bring any discussions with the same tag into group.

I love to revive the brainbusters! (lost discussions)
I think that once you've been tagged or recieved a response... it makes your discussion easier to search and bumps it, so it's more readily available to others.
The only problem is... if you have a real problem that you are hoping to solve, you may not get a response in time : (

They can come from BrainBusters and I go there every time I come to myLot because there are usually some that I can respond to. Also the tags make a difference, particularly if you use one that isn't used too often and then some other member uses the same one it will come up at the bottom of the page. I also often respond to these.
The main reason I do is because there are often good discussions that have just been overlooked simply because of the large number of discussions going on. I like to give them a chance if possible because members do need to have their efforts acknowledged and if the discussion is reasonable (or at least to me it is reasonable), then it deserves a chance. :)

Yes, I've checked on "similar discussions" several times and posted there also. Another thing I do when I can't find a new discussion to post to is go to Brain Busters and find some new ones.

Yeah. It is pretty cool. I think some people do what I do, take a day and go waay back to like page 1500 and start answering posts without responces.

It is cool, isn't it. I like to go through the brain busters section myself. I find a lot of good questions in that section that just get skipped over.

Yes that is neat. There are so many new mylot users answering old discussions that is why we get new responses later.

Yes, I too love that. But I think myLot should use the Yahoo answers format. Where a discussion is valid only for limited time after that if best response is not choosen the discussion's best response is choosen by users through voting.
