I get my blood boiling every day watching TV and seeing what just a few are doing to our good old USA. How about taking 'Under God" out of our pledge of allegiance. Why are we sitting still when we are losing all our rights. Let me know your thoughts.

This is what we call a democrat country. Freedom of rights and speech. It bothers me a lot too. The country is getting more and more immoral. Keeping God out of so much, is horrible. It was the basis of this country. I wish I had an answer to this, I don't. But I share the same fustrations as you my friend.

Thank you for standing up and expressing your opinion.
That is the main reason this country is going to pot.
You know Theorodore Roosevelt said in 1907 that he welcomed immigrants to our country BUT when they came into our country they had to become Americans and they had to learn English. Wish I could copy and paste his entire opinion of this but if any of you are interested I would be glad to email it to you. I get so tired on 'Press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish".

How the ACLU Didn't Steal Christmas
by Fran Quigley
When the angry phone calls and e-mails started arriving at the office, I knew the holiday season was upon us. A typical message shouted that we at the American Civil Liberties Union affiliate in Indiana are "horrible" and "we should be ashamed of ourselves," then concluded with an incongruous and agitated "Merry Christmas."
We get this type of correspondence a lot, mostly in reaction to a well-organized attempt by extremist groups to demonize the ACLU, crush religious diversity and make a few bucks in the process. Sadly, this self-interested effort is being promoted in the guise of defending Christmas.
For example, the Alliance Defense Fund celebrates the season with an "It's OK to say Merry Christmas" campaign, implying that the ACLU has challenged such holiday greetings. (As part of the effort, you can get a pamphlet and two Christmas pins for $29.)
The Web site, WorldNetDaily, touts a book claiming "a thorough and virulent anti-Christmas campaign is being waged today by liberal activists and ACLU fanatics." The site's magazine has suggested there will be ACLU efforts to remove "In God We Trust" from U.S. currency, fire military chaplains and expunge all references to God in America's founding documents. (Learn more for just $19.95 . . . )
Of course, there is no "Merry Christmas" lawsuit, nor is there any ACLU litigation about U.S. currency, military chaplains, etc. But the facts are not important to these groups, because their real message is this: By protecting the freedom of Muslims, Jews and other non-Christians through preventing government entanglement with religion, the ACLU is somehow infringing on the rights of those with majority religious beliefs.
In truth, it is these Web-site Christians who are taking the Christ out of the season. Nowhere in the Sermon on the Mount did Jesus Christ ask that we celebrate his birth with narrow-mindedness and intolerance, especially for those who are already marginalized and persecuted. Instead, the New Testament -- like the Torah and the Quran and countless other sacred texts -- commands us to love our neighbor and to comfort the sick and the imprisoned.~~~~~Article continues at link given above.~~~~~~

I did check out your site and why would you feel differently. You are part of the ACLU.
And Yes, every year our Lord is taken out of many of our holidays etc. Watch Bill O'Reilly and James Gipson and tell me that what they pursued all during the Christmas season was worthless. I do not think so.

I think that is crazy to remove any wording from the pledge of alligence.....it is fine the way it has been since it was written...there are just closed minded people in the world who don't know God and would like for his name to be removed..but i tell u what they will get it in the end for it....

Well, unfortunately, the seperation of state and religion is a real big topic in politics. I don't think the federal government should decide what people say and don't say. I think the "Under God" part should be optional; however, not mandated that it's taken out. Everyone HAS to do the pledge, because that's my tax money...no matter what religion or nationality. The "Under God" should be optional; yet, it should stay in the pledge.

Well, I respect your opinion but I do not agree with you. Have you taken a look at any of the US money. They all have In God We Trust. We are letting our country go to pot. The US post Office has been ordered to take down all signs that say anything pretainly to GOD. Did you look at your stamps in December. I got an email the other day that suggested that we put :In God We Trust: on both the front and back of all our mail. I agree with this and have done so.
