wow, I just read an article that says yearly doctor checkups are overrated and may not actually be as important as we were always told (surprise, surprise). Do you have an annual checkup? I am one of those who doesn't go. I only see the doc if I am really sick, and I usually go to a walk in clinic if I can. Maybe I am tempting fate, but the doctors usually DON'T know more than they do.

I go for yearly checkups. But not physicals. I go for my mammogram and pap smear. As a Certified Mastectomy fitter, I met many women who did or did not go for yearly exams. I can tell you some scarey stories.

I go for a yearly check up because I have to in order to get my birth control. If I could get away with buying the pill OTC I wouldn't go every year.

I go in every 3-4 years or when I am really sick. I don't have heatlh insurance from work yet so I try to go in as few times as I can

Yes I do go for my check-ups regularly. I actually go to the Doctor more often than once a year due to some medical conditions, but every year have all those annual blood tests, ECG etc. I am not sure that Doctors know everything but they know more than I do. Luckily our Doctor listens to me when I say something is "not quite right" and tell him why I think that and he takes it from there which is good as far as I am concerned.
Sometimes a medical condition can go undetected certainly, despite regular check-ups. However, I feel that if anything does come up that it shouldn't be too far advanced (hopefully) because of these regular checkups.
