Mrs. Horton - as far as I know - has been played by the same woman since day 1. I think Marlena is the original, so are Doug and Julie. I'm pretty sure Shaun & Caroline Brady have always been the same also.
Also, Bo was played by some Bo-wanna-be a while back, he was horrible. Everyone was happy when the original Bo came back.

I remember that BO.He was cute but very bad acting and not the right personality or really no personality. By the way, I can't stand this soap much anymore. I know I've watched it since I was born and the actors and parts are growing retarded. The new Shawn D is not so cute, and the Girl that plays Belle acts or looks nothing like the bubbly girl who played her as a teen. I'm disapointed how borring the story line is in bringing back Kayla And Steve. Poor Jack, did they ever really kill him off. How many times is Hope going to get pregnant supposedly by someone other than Bo? Is there anyone in Salem who hasn't come up missing or stricken with amnesia or been in a coma or have a rare disease that doesn't every really seem to have a name? It's all so stupid but you can't help but watch it from time to time.

I'm sorry I rambled too long and off the subject. Mrs. Horton has been on the show since it originally aired accoring to my momma and grandma.

I think Gram is the longest running actor on that show. She may not be in every episode but shes always been consistant since the first show. They've never had any replacements for her. Marleana also - as far as I can remember has never been "replaced" but has gone missing from the show for years.

Maggie is an original too, as well as Hope. Peter Reckell left for a little while and another actor took his place. Doug and Julie are originals as well as Hope.

The lady who plays Mrs. Alice Horton...She has been on there since Day 1 back in 1965! I don't know of anyone else that has been on there for that long. But I know that she has.

They have been on there a long time. However Bo had been played by someone else for a bit....Now, Alice Horton is the longest. No one has ever played her except the original Alice. Prior to the whole murder thing, Mickey Horton was another one who was an original...then they replaced him. Maggie, Hopes parents, and others have been on there for ages also. But Alice reigns the longest.

Julie has been on since the beginning of the show. She and Doug have been the only D & J that I can find.

Well I know Alice is the longest. Also Maggie. Julie and Doug have been around a long time too. They are Hope's parents and usually just appear on special occasions. Marlena, John Black, Bo and Hope have all been around a long time too. Many actors have left and come back too as in the case with Steve and Kayla. Oh and I guess the Brady parents have been around awhile too.
