Internet Explorer or Firefox?

Some people swear by Firefox Mozilla as it has good security features unlike Microsoft Explorer with security flaws that have become a joke in the industry. What is your current browser, IE or FF? What is the decision for sticking to one over the other?

Hi onestepahead, I like mozilla firefox because it is much secured when compared to internet explorer. It has an advanced security feature which makes it safe to use. I like also the add-ons, plug-ins, and extensions of mozilla, thus making it more useful. However, I also used IE because there are some websites that cannot be opened by mozilla, so I used it rarely. Have a nice day and God speed!

I use Firefox when on the internet because of the security issues you mentioned. I have finally got my family switched over also. They kept getting viruses and asking me why I wasn't so i told them it was because of Firefox. I also love the tabbed browsing which I now know the new IE has but I am still wary of the security issues. Firefox also has some really cool free addons. I keep IE on my computer because I am a huge ebook lover and some of them require that IE be on your computer in order for the book to display properly. That is the only reason I have IE on my computer. If all ebooks went over to PDF then I would get rid of IE altoghether.

I'm having both "Internet Explorer" and "Mozilla Firefox" in my system. But, I use FireFox mostly as It is the flexible one. As you have specified, IE has some security flaws. On the other hand, FireFox has some features that are very useful. I Love FireFox...

I stil to Mozilla Firefox but I do use IE from time to time. I like Mozilla because of the security features along with the fact that it feels faster online. Also Mozilla had the Tabs in browsers before Internet Explorer so I got used to Mozilla before IE came out with Tabs. I also like how Mozilla updates their browser. It can do it without you even knowing and it doesn't slow my computer down, and I'm on dial-up.

I use IE even with all the issues, it's just an old habit. I have used FF, but I seem to keep going back to IE. I guess I just can't get enough of Bill Gates abuse. I use antivrus software to prevent viruses, and don't go to all the scam sites designed to poke at IE's vulnerabilities. For the most part, even with the flaws, IE is OK if you use a little common sense along with it. Though I do find it hilarious that Bill Gates made the new IE look a LOT like FF.

CNET.com ran a really good article on their website comparing the pros and cons of the new Internet Explorer (7.0) and the new Firefox (2.0). http://reviews.cnet.com/4500-10442_7-6656808-1.html

I find myself using both. I prefer Firefox, but sometimes pages don't work right unless they are in IE. Amazon only works in IE. I had some problems with mylot the other day that were only resolved when I opened it in IE. I find Firefox easier to use and faster. So, I guess I'd say I use Mozilla FF unless it can't handle a page.
