The all new Apple iPhone: is it cool or is it lame?

http://www.apple.com/iphone/ It looks to me like an iPod with many more options, and it looks like it would be too heavy for a phone - I mean, we all know how heavy iPods are to begin with. If they can make it light enough to feel like a cell-phone, I'll be all in... when I can afford it. Price? 600 dollars. You'll have to do a lot of Mylot posting to buy this one.

personally, not a big fan of the ipod. My sister has one and I have a creative zen microphoto which i think is miles better. The itunes software is awful, i had to show my sister an alternative way to transfer her music files onto her ipod! Right, onto the phone! lol! wow, it looks...odd?! But kinda cool now that i've looked at if for the 10th time! I'd really have to actually see it before i'd know for sure. The maps and stocks feature is interesting..:)

I find iTunes pretty easy to use, but maybe that's because I use a Mac. I'm interested in some kind of phone/PDA/web browsing gizmo, I'll wait and see how this iPhone works in the real world when it comes out--durability, ease of use, battery life, etc. Though a small-and-light laptop might meet most of my needs better.

I am surprised. It's the looks and the price which surprised me. During the last few months there were enough articles and buzz around regarding when will iPhone be release. People were guessing on it's looks and prices. The idea was it would be aroun $300 mark and the look more like a motorola phone. But this is surprising. The price is more than what was expected and the looks also is different than what was predicted. But this look is also great. May be we can expect some other version of this phone to come out later.

It looks really cool and is very sharp looking in my opinion. You are right that it does look like it would be heavy for a phone. Ouch. That is one very expensive phone so it would take me a while to be able to afford it as well. I will have to wait for the price to come down as they will probably make something better later this year. Thank you for the link to this Iphone

i read a review on the apple iphone recently ... i myself think that the phone is quiet similar to O2 pocket PC phones , and does not have nething unique. However its the 'Apple' brand, that just might help the product in the market.

I agree with you it is an Ipod with more options built into it. I won't get it until the price drops a little bit.

From what I've read the iPhone will cost $499 for a 4 GB model and $599 for an 8GB model. I personally don't see the excitement over the video iPod feature. I can't think of anything I'd want to watch for longer than 3 minutes on a 3.5" screen!

its a cool phone. It is kinda heavy , but then u can't have everything in a phone and expect it to be feather weight.
