What is the strangest thing your cats have ever done?

I have one right now that loves to ride in the car. When I come home he usually jumps into the car as soon as I open the door. I had another one that liked cars, and also chased me when I took the kids bike riding until I would put him on a rug in the front basket. That cat would also wade in water puddles after a rain or spring thaw.

When I lived in the UK we had a very old house which got flooded and caused some structural damage. We had a friend that was a builder and one evening he came round to survey the damage and to look at what could be done about it. As soon as he came in through the front door, both my female cats (who are sisters) jumped up and latched onto his nipples through his jumper. Boy was that man in pain. One of the pair has now deceased and the other has gone blind, but i never saw them do it again. It was so weird. lol

You won't catch me doing a stupid thing like that, unlike most cats, I actually like humans.

I'm not sure if this counts but Gracie loves for me to give her a bath! Afterwards she prisses all around the house. Some other things are crying to go outside, scratching on door to come in.

my cat did something similar to this however it was me taking the bath, when I was 8 it didn't matter day or night...if i took a bath my siamese cat had to be in there with me. She loved taking baths with me but when she hit about age 5 she all the sudden stopped and was very scared of the water.

I think siamese do that a lot, at least mine did.

My cat is a horder. She steals my personal things, and hides them. I kept loosing my pens, cash, underwear, and some other items. They would just vanish. I found out that she was taking them and hiding them behind the bed. She also likes to groom me. I have long hair and she starts at the scalp, and licks all the way down to my waist.

I don't think I can even list all the strange things my cat has done. His name is Paxil (for good reason) and he is quita a character. He's facinated by water, and my husband actually will turn on the water faucet in the bathroom to distract the cat while he pees! Otherwise, the cat's trying to get into the toilet. At night, he sleeps in my bathroom sink. For Christmas, we bought him a little table-top fountain that he's just completely distracted by! He's just got a LOT of personality!

I forgot to mentin... when he isn't sleeping in the sink, he sleeps on his back with his arms stretched out over his head, and his back legs all stretched out, too. He sleeps like a person! It's too cute.

Funny you should ask this.. Just today my munchkin cat, cocoa was birdwatching. He sits on the top of the book shelf that is level with the window sill. There are two birdfeeders attatched to the window. Many times while watching he puts his paws on the glass and rubs it. I say "rubs" as he was declawed by his previous owner. Well today I hear this funny noise..seems like it's coming from the darn cat. But it is kind of a wierd noise for a cat. I pay closer attention and the Cat was making like a rat facee and chattering teeth noise. I don't know what the heck he was doing, but he stopped when he noticed me lean toward him. I've never seen anything like it, I watched him do this for over a minute before he noticed me. It was just plain wierd.

Cats do this and nobody knows why. I tried to find out by doing some reading, but the best guess was the cat was immitating the crunching of bone in anticipation of catching the prey. I don't think this is it, though.

i once had a cat that was blind in one eye/ he would run and jump around in the apt. and inevitably bump into something / no matter how many times he had bumped into something, there he would go hitting his head over and over / i used to sit and watch and check the time that it would take him to crash into the kitchen table legs!

I'm so sad cuz I don't have my kitties anymore, but one of them, tater, used to sit exactly like a human would on his bottom with legs straight out and hands to his side. It was sooo cute. (whimpers) I miss them

Tabby - Our cat Tabby
When our cat Tabby was a kitten he would go and capture the stuffed animals and then horde them in the cat carrier that was out and on the floor. He would only go after the stuffed animals that were birds or fish in some way. The funniest though was he came out of my niece's bedroom meowing with this strange meow and once we looked at him we had to laugh. He had her rubber snake in his mouth and was looking at us all pleased as could be with this look of see what I caught. In the picture attached he's sitting in a pot on the stove. Thankfully there was nothing in the pot. Have no clue why he did it but was lucky enough to get a picture of it.

All cats are weird! Just kidding and I do love them. One cat I had as a child loved to swim! He would hope in the bath tub and paddle around like a dog. None of the other cats including my current three that I have lived with would do that. In fact they all have hated the water. Cheers!

Who wants to read about Moggies, Useless lazy animals that think they are god, just because they've got their owners wrapped around their little claws! They like their home comforts too much, sprawled in front of the fire, owners fetching and carrying for them, better watch the little darling doesn't catch cold in the water puddles though. You'd be better to get a big intelligent dog like ....(Me for instance), I'll show you what puppy love is all about.

One of my cats once got curious and wanted to know what was inside of a small square Kleenex box. Well, of course, his head got stuck in it and then he proceeded to walk all around my apartment with a tissue box on his head. lol. We let him run into things for a little while and then when he got stuck between some stuff, we took it off for him. :) It was so funny, though, and years later, we still laugh about it.

My cat is 13yo and we have an electric blanket on our bed, when she gets cold she'll jump on the controls to turn them on. We often wake up in the middle of the night burning up, but it must feel good to her, because she'll be sleeping like a baby.

Two nights ago when my husband and I were eating dinner, the cat jumped up on my desk (his favorite spot)and laid down. I had our tax stuff on there in rubber bands. I made a comment, Loki..while your there, work on those taxes. As we watched he got up, went to the pile and started pulling on the rubberband. We laughed so hard! He looked at us like...Ok, you said work on them. So, I said ok, never mind. He turned around walked back to the end of the desk and curled up and went back to sleep. My husband and I were laughing so hard we were crying. My husband said to me.."He always listens to you, doesn't he?" I said yep! That's my boy! I love my Loki!

Our cat once licked a whole patch of hair right out of his back. There was this big baldy spot and we figured it was a good idea to take him to the vet. The cat's totally indoors (he's way too crazy to handle our backyard in new york city), so fleas weren't too likely. The vet told us he either had allergies or was nurotic. He gave us some allergy medicine and we forced them down the cat's throat (with great difficulty) for two solid weeks. The baldy patch lived on, so from then on we knew with medical assurance that our cat was crazy. The hair eventually grew back, but the cat's still crazy. He has taken to yowling in front of my parents bedroom door at 6AM every morning and likes to attack people from the side of a rocking chair, among other things.

My mother's cat has this strange habit of taking a good look around her (walk..stop..look left.walk again..stop..look right..again walk..stop..look back) before hoping in into our house after her daily routine of lazing around over at my grandma's( just next door).

the strangest thing my one cat does is when he drinks water instead of lapping it up out of the bowl with his tongue he takes his paw and dips it in the water and then likes it off his paw.

cat - kitty
My husband would always open the door from the kitchen into the garage when I pulled in. Our cat would run out, jump onto the hood of the car, climb up the front windshield onto the top of the car, and lean over the driver side and meow at me to get out! It was so cool! We had another cat that was the talkingest cat! He would meow to my husband and my husband would talk back. Munchkin would answer and he and my husband would just talk back and forth like they knew what the other was saying. I would lay in bed and just listen to the two of them talking back and forth while my husband was shaving in the bathroom and getting ready for work. That was the greatest cat we ever had. And when he wanted to go outside, he would go to the front door, stretch out his full length and reach his paws up to the door know and start talking to tell us to come let him out. Cats are really neat!

I don't know if it's strange or not, but my smallest cat likes to let my boyfriend wear him around his neck. He'll cling there and just fall asleep, and my b/f can walk around the house and everything with him there, snoozing away.

That is really strange. My cat love to eat watermelon. He freaks out until I give it to him and then attacks me if I dont give him more. He also loves to chase my cursor. He insists on sitting in front of my monitor to watch it.
