I'm pregnant and in constant pain. I cramp all the time and I don't remember pain during my first pregnancy. My doctor doesn't seem too concerned. Does anyone know if the pain is normal and if it should stop?

i had three children and i did not have pain during my pregnancy, only when it was time to have my baby.but i know that occasional discomfort may be normal but if its persistant it shouldn't be ignored.it could be gas or bloating,or maybe constipation but if you are not sure you should contact your doctor and tell he or she that you are really concerned that it maybe something serious

I guess I would need to know where the pain is in order to answer your question. I know that they say with subsequent pregnancies you can experience everything sooner and because your muscles are stretched out from your previous pregnancies you can experience the pains sooner. As long as your Dr. told you he/she isn't worried, they would know. If your pain is down below-- I think it is very normal-- my friend with her second child had a lot of pain down there starting at 4 months and lasted till the end of her preg. so, hopefully this helps you.

My third pregnancy was completely different from the previous ones and I did get the cramping.I told the OB and she would just say it was stretching of the uterus. It just would come and go. It was uncomfortable but it went away after awhile. I hope that everything is okay and that you get some relief from the pain.

Hi valkyrie! How are you today? When I was pregnant I felt a lot of pain too and my OB said it's because my body was so petite that it's having a hard time to stretch so the baby can fit. Still she did an internal examination on me to be sure that my cervix is not dilated, she also made me get a urine exam, turns out that nothing is wrong. If the pain goes continously for a whole day you should alert your doctor about it. Good luck and Take care!

I've only had one child and he is 20 years old now. But I do recall having pain on my right side really bad before giving birth, possibly training pains as some may call it. They ended up inducing me into labor. I would discuss any pains with your doctor. That would be your best source of information.

Hi valkyries. Having pain is not uncommen. I am pregnant with my third and I am in pain every time I stand up. You also have to evaluate what month you are in. If you are cramping in your abdomen it may be that you are experiancing braxton hicks, which are contractions, but it is to prepare your body for what is to come. If you are early on and feeling cramping it is most likely then from your uterus stretching. With my previous pregnancy and with my current one the babies head was really crushing down on me which caused pain when going to stand or sit up if I was laying down. It was not dangerous, just uncomfortable. Also I experianced alot of pain in my legs because of the stress the new found weight was having on my tendons. Every pregnancy is different but its not uncommen to have mutiple aches and pains. As always though, if your instinct tells you something does not seem right, talk to your doctor right away.
