Just a question I guess and I hope that no one takes it as an offence....but does anyone bother to read the mylot guidelines, terms, earnings, and FAQ? I am constantly noticing members old and new asking questions about items that are clearly posted in the mylot help areas. Questions such as how to rate a topic, what the minus and plus signs are for, how earnings are calculated, etc.. etc.. Has anyone else noticed this? And how many members have actually read the mylot help sections found at the bottom of every page...and be honest.

I have read some or most of the things you list, and refer back to them from time to time. When I see these questions posted "What are those colored stars, do you have one, they add some color" I respond, kindly, with my understanding of the information requested, referencing where I found the info without yelling or saying "Can't you read, you dummy, or did you not bother?" even if I feel like it. I fantasize that myLot likes me better than them and has told me all of these secrets--ha ha

I did ... I read them when I first registered ... I like to know what I am letting myself in for ... and I have to say some of the rules didn't make a lot of sense that first time I read them .. but as I've spent more time in MyLot I think I'm getting the hang of it all ..
I think the new star ratings are quite helpful to 'newbies', and I wish they had been around when I first started as it does give a clearer picture of the quality discussions than just the numbers after folks name ..

Yes, I have read the guidelines and wonder the same thing as you do. It does seem like nobody reads it as many people have posted discussions about the rules and earnings on here. Most people do not take the time to read the myLot rules. If they did, it would save us some unnecessary discussions. I also wonder if people read the alerts that myLot puts out from time to time as well.

I seen a few questions shortly after mylot released the new star update asking what the stars were for. I cannot see how a person could miss the alerts as they are a real eye catcher. I don't know if this not reading the terms and such is a problem that can be fixed, unless mylot doesn't give credtit to those topics.

I have read it all. I have a really bad memory so I have to go back and reread everything. I have noticed this also. Yesterday we got the stars by our names and a messege telling us what it meant and someone had to ask what it meant. I mean come on all ready. Just read your alerts and everything else.

well, it's something that's very 'usual' everywhere you go.. every forum, blog, community has it's own rules, but people, which includes me, dont bother to read. However, when need arises, they either read.. or prefer to ask (which we consider easier)..

This is true, I have just asked for an account at another forum to be removed as they keep PMing me telling me that I am not following there guidelines, I had been a member at that forum for over 4 years, the moderators there have been there for about maybe a year at the most, and they are telling me that I am breaking the terms. I just continuously fight with them and their guidelines, if they would only leave them alone, as they update the guidelines to there liking and now have managed to ruin the forum completely, all the veteran members that used to post there with some great info and knowledge have all left do to this same reason.

i do read through the guidelines, terms and earnings....and the FAQ...LOL in fact, i've read it through a few times. sometimes, i guess we will find it easier to just ask the members by starting a discussion, probably they are hoping that experienced members could help to share some tips too :D

sometimes, when there's a new member/my myLot friends who actually start a new discussion on this, and they phrase the words very politely :D i will try my best to respond to them, then ask them to refer to the guidelines..but there's just too many people seeking the easy way out...

Hi eunice, you are like me, I have read the terms and such here to many times I think...I can almost recite them...lol, I don't mind helping a member with something but when it is something that is covered in the help section then I usually steer clear, as for new members and old asking how you earn money here, if this is a question needing asking then you really shouldn't be here...also questions about how you can see how many referral you have or whatever, all the members have to do is take an hour or so and have a look around the site.

I don't know about the new and the old members but when I joined the community I have completely read the guidelines and then started my first post.
But I agree that there are some features which one can't understand by just reading them..so I think at that time it somes to clarify those doubts ..and the best option is to start a new discussions and get the various view of different users about that.

Good to hear that you have read the terms, Yes, some of them are a little hard to comprehend and really should be updated to be more understandable, however, as mylot states, if there is something in the site that you do not agree with then it should be brought to there attention, and this is what we should do then, is point out to mylot the areas that are giving the members problems.

When I first signed up to myLot, the first thing I did was to read the FAQ and every thing I could just to be a good memeber and no to break any rule.
I think that is nececary for every member here.
New member are asking all the time how to get more money, when do they get paid and I just keeps on answering the same questions while the best answers are in the FAQ area.
Just enter and read all you need about myLot.
I hope that more and more users will enter to this discussion and finally start to read the FAQ and stop asking those questions.
Great discussion my friend :)

At the moment, i've read the terms, about mylot, earn money, faqs as well as the guidelines. Maybe because the fact that i'm not a US residence so i ought to be careful with ever i'm registering myself on the internet. I'm still new and still reading some useful tips here. Oh ya, also i always watch out for the alerts too.

Whenever I join any site, I read the terms and conditions, FAQ's and help links of the site. Similarly I read the terms and conditions of the Mylot site also before registering. May be people would have forgotten the terms in due course.

yes i saw the same for the several times.. but myLot is about earnings, so i think lot of users whos believes that how many discussions they will start and get responses on will make them more earnings... so .. anyways that was my personal perception about the matter:)... cheers
