What do you think of labradors?

Labradors are one of the best breed of dog both to train and to trust around children and other people. That is why they are so often chosen as guide and companion dogs. They are obedient, intelligent, calm and loving but they are not so fixated on one person that they mistrust all others.

I've heard in my city that an labrator save a child,that dosn't know to swimm,an labrador swimm in water and take that kid out,so all were happy,including children parents.I believe that an dog like labrador,never could do something bad for kids.

I had a Yellow Labrador before and she is the best behaving dog that I had. She's so sweet and friendly to everybody but a big eater. Sadly, she passed away but I will already remember her in my heart.

my neighbours have Labrador, the kids over there enjoy a lot with that labrador.

I have a labrador shepard mix never had just a labrador but have had a shepard so i knew shepards chew alot and she does now the labrador in her which she is most of makes her very hyper but very smart and loyal and in my oppinion (i have a special needs child who can make an ant mad at him) is really good with kids a labrador really does need to be walked once they have their walk they are much calmer and easier to train very nice dogs

My grandma always had black labs and German Shepherds. The lab was fantastic with all of us when we were little. We have a lab mix that we adopted and he is just super with our kids. The kids lay their head on his belly and he just stretches out and lets them lay there.

I have heard that they make excellent house pets and are very good with children. The also are good as watch dogs for the home

Labs are one fo the most popular breeds for a reason - as all the others posters stated - they are great dogs. But, with any dog breed you should look up information on the breed before you buy one. Labs have tons of energy and need to be walked or ran everyday and need a yard to play in. They are good with children, but need to be supervised with young ones (as with any breed). Puppies chew - so you need to keep all valuables away from them and provide plenty of chew toys. But, they are very loyal, easy to train, and they love other dogs and other humans.

I LOVE labs! All of the dogs that I have ever owned have been mixed-breeds, all of which were part Lab. Labs are very intelligent, loyal, grat with kids, playful and friendly.
