Does anyone else have a mean, rotten landlord? This was my third time renting a place, and every single time I felt like i got screwed out of my security deposit. In addition, all of a sudden when I move out, the landlord starts getting nasty with me and giving me short, rude answers. She is a big liar and a b*tch, plain and simple. Does anyone else out there have any landlord horror stories???

My worst horror story from renting is my only so I guess that I am lucky. My partner and I about 7 years ago rented this new house on property. We had been in this house for 8 months when one day we get home and there is an eviction notice on the front door. A 72 hour eviction for illegally living in dwelling. We try to call the person that we had been renting from and his phone was disconnected. We finally decided to call the number on the notice. We find out from this person that the person who rented us our home had not right to rent it out and had done it with 3 other homes this lady owned and he had disappeared. Anyhow I had just had a baby the month before so we asked if we could stay for awhile, she said no! We made her take us to court and since it was in a small town she got it in front of a judge that week. We lost and were given 48 hours to get out and everything off of the property. We had to stay in a motel for 2 months before we found something else to live in. Now we only rent apartments or homes rented through an agency.

I had this one landlord who was crazy. On the weekends she would show up to the apartment building drunk and bothering the tenants. She never paid the heating or water bill. When I moved in my electric bill was a little high. One day I had to go down in the basement for something. I noticed that my fuse box was hooked up to the basement electricity. So I was paying to run the basement which included a sump pump that ran all the time. I am glad that I finally own my own home and don't have to worry about crappy landlords anymore. Now the crappy neighbors are another story...
