Its already another Vietnam. They are bogged down, making no significant head way and just losing more and more soldiers, all sending more people to Baghdad is going to do is lead to more deaths, i think its time they considered trying to get out of there, i don't think peace will ever be reached while the US army occupies the country

I'm guess you right about another Vietnam. This war is impossible to win. (I know they say it's over but actually it isn't...) Anyway, I don't believe that leaving of foreign troops will bring peace back there. It will be even worse, I'm afraid. The confrontation is too big, and the government isn't able to keep order there. It will take very many years until Iraq will become a normal country.

What are you gonna win? What is this WIN everyone is talking about? Why did we even go into Iraq in the first place?

I dont know if its another Vietnam or not. We have accomplished some good things over there. Saddam is gone, there having democratic elections and now have and elected goverment which is a good step to them taking over there own country. With Bush's new plan we have a good chance of accomplishing our goal, which is for the Iraqi's to take over there own country. Granted we can not be there cruth for too much longer. But mark my words. If we pull out of there too soon before they are ready everything we've done and sacrificed will be for not. just think about it. If we left now the insurgents will overthrow the current goverment and controll, and turn it into a hotbed for terrorists. If that were to happen, they would not only have the controll of the country but of the oil reserves and the profits that come with that. They would then have the ability to not only train but have and almost unlimited amoount of cash to fund themselves. And what do you think they would do then? We would be having attacks on the US and our allies.

Oh, yes! The USA will succeed in getting its people return to the US as nutcases, just like from previous wars! War is not some fun sport, and has never been, at any time in history, a win-lose situation. Hope we some day truly learn to use our brians to persuade others, rather than simply resort to sacrificing lives for mere revenue generation.

Hi there, 4ftfingers! Will not be surprised at all. Texas actually has an unspoken policy of "shot and ask questions later!" Several people have been executed in Texas on very flimsy evidence only be found "not guilty" after execution. Although I could not access your provided link, below is another site validating the issue: http://www.texecutions.com Although being a big State and having more than twice the problems of other US States, Texas is very quick to condemn without proper verifications. So, one better be careful when going thru the Lone Star State - we just might decide to send you to the electric chair if we do not like you very much!

Is it true that 2 out of 3 of the 155 texecuted by bush as governor of texas, were gulf war veterans? This is stated by the site - www.ccadp.org/serialpresident.htm - but i wasn't sure how credible the source was

I don't think USA will ever succeed in Iraq, Iraq will be another Vietnam. There is a lot of USA soldiers in Iraq and recently has arrived there another 20000, but local resistance is very big.

i don't even know what the US is still doing over there! What the hell does the President want over there. Sending troops to a foregn country is pointless...I don't know why the US has to butt into other countries problems. I know we helped by capturing Saddam but I don't know why the US is still doing over there. Ithink It's the troops responsiblitity to do what they are told but then again being overseas fighting someone else's war is pointless! I don't think it will be another Vietnam I think we are just over there for security! I mean acting as security!

The actually question would be what is victory? How can you win if you can't even define victory? George Bush doesn't even know what victory is. If it is trying to force your idealology of what government is on people who don't understand and don't want it, then what is the point. If it is the removal of Saddam, then mission accomplished. It already is another Vietnam, no direction, no plan, and no actual gain.

my question is Bush send troops to win Iraq or to establish peace in Iraq ? i read all the response and most of the cases i saw people are telling Bush will never get win at Iraq. Bush's duty was not to win Iraq, rather help people of Iraq to get rid fo Saddam. Iraq is alread Vietnam i guess, only the final part is remaining when Iraqi people will make american troops bound to go back. i want to see something from Iaqi people. this is the high time to understnad the Aamerica's policy on Iraq.

It's another embarassment that's for sure, not what Bush was hoping for. He wanted to be the wartime hero president that saved the world from Dr Scary McEvil, just as other leaders have done in the past. Instead, with much thanks to our unbiased, new and improved for the 21st century news media, he looks like the robbing b*stard 'i don't give a toss how many forigners we kill, i want my money' businessman he really is. That's just unlucky

I am afraid I cannot predict that. But I believe that the US has to learn a lot from history. Or, to go the easy way about it, read some Chomsky. He is a bit impassioned at times, but can be sufficient enough to give some historical sense.

It is going to be another vietnam. Actually i hate this kind of issues since it related with war and crime, who is committing war and who is committing crime. USA wanna prove their power forces as a World Police, and their goals clearly not for peace..i just wish USA will not succeed in Iraq. Their aim from the very beginning is the black gold in Iraq..what a greed nations there...

I think it is gonna turn into another world war. It is affecting the whole world as one. I cant believe we havent got bombed yet over here. We have been over there in their country way to long and I am quite sure those mean people are quite sick of seeing us. They want us to get out of there so they can run that plave and turn it into their own blood bath. As mnay lives as we have lost. How many lives has Iraq lost? It is rediculous that this war has went on this long and gave those mean people of Iraq more time to plan their defenses towards their own people and the U.S. We are only human and yes we have man power, but I think our man power should have been absolute full force from the start so our troops would have been back home a long time ago. We dont even hear too much about ole Bin Laden any more. Evidently he isnt the problem right now but his terroristic people are. I am waiting for any day to get up and turn on the news if we have power to do so and hear that we have been attacked. those people in Iraq are not going to put up with us being over there in their country much longer. all I can say is lord help us all if it does happen.
