I write articles mainly. I used to sell to magazines but I sell most stuff online now. And I've just started working as a copywriter for a local graphic designer, doing web copy. I love fiction but I find that much harder.

Most of my writing is nonfiction. My writing credits include a published book and a number of articles. O've also had a short story that was almost published, plus a little note from an editor that encouraged me to send more work. Sorry to say that I never followed up --- stupid move!Right now, I'm struggling to write a novel.

Hey! That's really cool to hear about your writing credits! You should follow up on the leads you get... maybe it will work out better in the future. Good luck on that novel!

I used to write songs when I was younger. It's how I got started writing poetry, actually. I don't think I still have any of those. I have a feeling I would be hugely embarrassed if I ever came across them again!

I write poetry too actually when it comes to me. I'm trying my hand at fiction but I don't know if I'm doing well with it. I also want to try my hand at a child's book with bettas in it. But that one I'm hoping my gf will help with.

I am not sure why fiction is as hard for me as it is, but I think it is because I don't seem to be able to come up with good story lines. Let us know how yours goes!

I love composing poems that are dipped in various hues of my emotions. Writing short stories painted with my rich imagination is also what I like. Sometimes, I have even clothed the dreams that I see with words.

And no wonder! Look at how beautifully you use words, even for a simple comment on My Lot. I love it.

I guess I am more off in to reading then into writing. I love reading novels but only limited ones and that too from bestsellers ones. I love reading fiction, educational moral ones and most of the time is consumed reading computer related books which are very much part of my career.

I know a lot of people in that same boat. I tend to read just about anything I can get my hands on, fiction or nonfiction.

I mostly write poetry but only because my novel work takes a lot longer and I'm not always inspired to create more of it. I've been writing poetry since about 85 (I am 30 now) and its more a part of my life that I could not imagine not writing potery everyday.

I know what you mean. The more poetry you write, the more you seem to think poetically, don't you? Even the way you see the world is shaped by it, I think.

I am pretty much the same way. I read tons of fiction, and it inspires me to write more... just not to write fiction.

I do poetry when the mood hits me which hasn't been awhile and I write short horror stories. I haven't wrote anything in a few months though. I was thinking about posting some of the stuff I wrote on a blog to get some feedback. I really miss writing but I suffer from depression and until the new meds kick in I don't feel like writing any short stories. Once I do get a new blog set up and post my stories I will post the link on here so maybe everyone can let me know what they think. :)

I'm writing for my journal. Also I write to express my feelings. I write poetry, but it was way back when I was still a kid. Today, the only thing that I am writing is about my self expression and my day to day feelings and experiences in life.

Do you blog anywhere? It sounds like you do enough writing to put together a very nice blog. Would you like to leave a link for us to visit?

I started with poetry when I was in third grade, the rhyming kind haha. Then, I fancied fiction. I regained my interest with poetry when I was in high school and college. Now, creative writing doesn't earn much. I had to resort to feature writing and copy writing. Sad :(

I know what you mean about creative writing not paying monetarily. I think most of us who are writers find other ways to support ourselves. (Well, unless you are J K Rowling or something like that!) It is good that you can support yourself through writing, even if it is not the sort of creative writing you love. Do you still get time for your fiction and poetry?

Maybe you could post some romantic poems for your female friends here! I enjoy the expression poetry makes possible too.

I write only nonfiction now, but I have written some fiction (never published) and a little poetry (some published, but not too popular). Most of my writing is to fill the requirements of my job - not very satisfying, but it pays the bills. I enjoy more creative writing and have found a few outlets for that, but it's still nonfiction.

I've just received word that I have a few new poems accepted for publication in the new issue of a magazine I submitted to. Not a very popular one either, but it is always nice to get those sorts of letters! It's good that you use your writing skills at work. Nice when it can gain a bit of income for you.

That actually adds up to a whole lot of writing, doesn't it? You must have lots of ideas in your head to keep up with all of that.

I lived to write fiction for many years. Now, I am trying to conquer the world of non-fiction to spread the word of depression awareness.

As of me, i'm preferred to write stories of my own. I'm fun of making stories out of the things, places and even people i've been encountered and have touched my life even for a while. Its maybe because i am much interested in each one's role in the universe most specifically in each part of the world where we belong...

Those personal observation stories can really be powerful ones too. It's cool that you write like that. It would be fun to read your stories, I bet.

I am more inclined to writing prose than poetry. I feel that I never had the talent for poetry. As for the type of prose, I am more into the fantasy genre at the moment and I tend to write long stories. Of course, my works were never officially published, just posted in the web here and there for friends and other people :).

I love reading fantasy books. I could probably manage to follow the story arc of a good fantasy novel if I were writing, but I seem to dry up when it comes to putting together an interesting story.
