No man knows the time of the end of the world but it has been speculated that the Mayan calendar which is the most respected peice of prophetic timelining actually predicts the end of the world since it itself ends and that ending is on December 21st, 2012.

May be respected by you, but not by the overwhelming majority of the population of the world who have never heard of it. It doesn't seem to have done the Mayans a whole lot of good to be frank...
Not all religions have an 'end-time' so we can assume that the majority of people are interested in the end of the world as mentioned by Jesus - Jesus goes on to explain that only Jesus the Son and God the Father know the answer - so there is no point trying to work it out unless you think you can second-guess God.
I don't think the Mayan calendar attempted to predict the end of the world, I expect they just got bored compiling such a huge calendar...

God alone knows the time and day the earth will end. If you want to know what the end will be like, you can read Revelation, the last book of the Bible. The Bible has a 100% fulfillment of prophecy track record, so you can be sure that the prophecy about the end times will come true also.
