Actually, it's quite the opposite. Abortion is legal, therefore it's not murder, and a lot of people have trouble understanding THAT. Is it killing? Yes, it's the killing of the potential to be a child. It however is not murder, no matter how you twist it, by pure definition alone.

Of course abortion is killing, no one is disputing that. It's the termination of a pregnancy, and a fetus is killed. The debate comes in on whether or not the person considers that fetus to a viable life deserving of human rights.
However, it's not murder, and this line is too heavily overused in the abortion debate. Murder is the illegal act of taking another human life. Since abortion is not illegal, it is not murder. Roe Vs Wade secured this part of the debate for us.
Personally, I'm pro-choice. I don't believe a fetus should have rights over and above the womans, and that she should have the ultimate right to decide what happens with her body and her life.

I think abortion is equivalent to killing. An immature baby is killed inside before it takes birth. But if abortion takes place within a week of the pregnancy,it might not be regarded as killing as at that time only formation of zygot takes place.
