It has been a recent trend in many colleges to ban soft drinks i.e. the colas on basis of good health and general public interest.
Recently a state in india has imposed complete ban on sale of cold drinks in school canteens.
Do you think this form of dictation on what is healthy or not (by government) justified or should indviduals be the judge of what is suitable for them.
Why not let people (or the parents of kids) decide what they should drink or not!!!!!!!

I do not think sodas should be banned from colleges because by college age, people should be able to make good, informed choices based on the health and nutrition. In elementary schools, however, I do not think that they should sell sodas because young kids cannot make infomed decisions yet. Even if their parents tell them not to buy sodas, if they have the money, they will buy them a lot of times.

Fair enough. Kids should be guided and teens or elderly should be allowed to make their own choices.
But then shouldn't teens also be guided to what is good for them or not.
Or what u are suggesting is that guide the teens but dont ban a drink just cause it has a slight bad effect o nthe person.

Schools or governments should not be deciding what is best for everyone to drink. It is your right to drink whatever you feel like drinking, as long as it is legal. Soda should be sold on all college campuses, and I also believe that they should provide an alternative to it as well. Providing both the healthy choices and the soda would be a great step, and let the students make the choice.

Eugh, no way. Especially if you've been up all the night before studying for your test tomorrow - you'd need the caffeine.
