I read the Scripture every day, and I often find verses that can apply to everyone in the world, not just believers. I would like to share a verse here every day that you can apply to your life. I am not trying to convert anyone, I just want to give a verse that is good to live by. The words in the Bible are not all about preaching the Lord, and some can give us good ways to live our lives. The verse I picked out for today is about helping others. While it does have some reference to Jesus, you do not have to use it for that. This is from Matthew 20:26-28
"Whoever desires to become great amonh you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave-just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."The way that I see this is that we need to help others in our life. We need to not be selfish and self-involved, but to love others and do kind deeds for others. Do unto others as you would like to be treated. If you live by those words, you will do great things. What does this verse mean to you?

I think I agree with you on your translation of that verse. I see it as even someone as great as the Son of God was a servant, so we also need to be the same exact way as Jesus was. To be truly great, we must always be serving, not be served. This is a good verse, and I will look forward to more. I hope you can do this everyday. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your comment. I do believe all that you said, and that is a good translation,I believe, as to what Jesus was trying to say. I will continue to try and do this and hopefully I can give some good words for people to live by. Thanks for the reply!
