I have noticed through all my relationships with arguing or whatever, the woman and guy both think they are right.. not just my relationship but also others. Is it a woman thing or man thing? Whats the best way to avoid situations like this?

it's both their fault , , when one admits a mistake , , he/she never admits it , , or that person is just too proud to accept it , , ok , , the other half will argue , , lose patience and wham!! arguing starts , , different things are brought up , , if the couple both are patient , , well , , i may say , , things may wind up good , , if not , , well, , you know what happens next

My Godmother told me that in my marriage life I should observe this: When one is on fire, the other should be water. I think it works. After a while, you'll get to know your partner well enough and you'll manage. I also believe that in a relationship 'it takes two to tango'.

Well come on now it only makes sense that both people feel they are correct or there likely would not have been anything to argue about. :)
As adults we need to realize that others have opinions that are different than your own. The trick to a good relationship is to know when it is okay to disagree.
