hahhaha, I like the last statement. Good thing you added that. May I suggest to put the litter into a wrapping like a net, so it is more easily removable? Thanks for the hint. Try my soap suggestion too. It works great.

Hey, that is a good idea Margieanne. How about an old nylon stocking?

LOL, that was funny.
I also heard using baking soda works well also.
I think what foods you eat can have an effect on your foot odor. When my oldest eats a high garlic foods, her feet seem to stink worse.

I use a mixture of baking soda and talc powder. It seems to work but not as quick as I would like.

I like this one, and it is true to keep them from your cat friends. We should take more care of our shoes and they will last longe if you do!! Baking soda is a great odor eater too. You could put it in a handkerchief and tie it together to insert into your shoes and that would also work!!

Ewwwwww, am picturing the morning after the night before when kitty decided to pay a visit to my beloved shoes and forgetting that I had put the kitty litter in them! Not a pretty sight or smell! lol

Here kitty kitty! I wanna give my partner something to wake up to. ha ha Just kidding. Really! ha ha
I have heard that if you pour baking soda in shoes it absorbs the odor also. So, for those that do not have cats but do have Arm & Hammer...you could try that too.
I have been seriously considering picking up some myself for my son's shoes! Ewwww!

LMAO... I swear... as I read your warning I pictured this happening in my house!!! I have a few cats (I refuse to say how many cuz it sounds like I'm a weirdo and people think my house must stink.. .and I swear it doesn't! lol)
That's a great tip though! I can't believe I've never thought of that. I've tried just about everything from baking soda to potpourri to no vacuum carpet freshener. I've tied them up in bags with a box of baking soda even! My son will kill you with his sneakers for the most part. It's ended up being that I just give in and buy new sneakers every few months because he's going to be in jail for murder if he ever takes them off in a crowd! lol
Thanks! Awesome tip!

Another really great tip! And lol about not leaving the shoes where your cat can get to them! You definitely would not wish to do that, lol! *laugh* The cat would have no reason not to view this curiosity as a new type of litterbox! *laugh* ^_^

LOL I have 2 cats in the house and I can see it now - cat poop in my favorite sneakers. LOL I have heard of this before but never used it. I am sorta afraid to try it as my cats may just think it is a new litter box. Has anyone tried it who does have cats? Were the cats drawn to the shoes even after the litter was removed?

I have tried it when my kids has stinky sneaker problems. It did minimize the smell to a degree. Changing the insoles is important too.

Cats are noted for making the best of whatever they can in the way of litter trays. I would add - stuff an old sock in the shoe first and fill it with the kitty litter. That way you won't have annoying crumbs of clay in the toes of your shoes.

Ooh, what a picture, I have a cat who would try this. Thanks for the helpful foot hints. From time to time one or the other of my cats falls in love with my shoes, either trying to stick his head inside the shoes or sharpening his claws on the outside. I guess one person's stinkiness is one cat's perfume.

I also heard that using carpet powder works really good. I use baby powder on my feet. It really helps with sweat and stuff. Just put some baby powder on after each shower and you are good to go.
And the cat litter thing, that sounds like a good idea for the shoes.
