Do you own, rent, live with parents?

Do you own your own home, rent a home or an apartment or live with your parents? Maybe some of you live on campus or with friends. We all have different living conditions and I thought it would be fun to talk about them. My husband and I own our home. We had it built 40 years ago.

I used to be in my parents' house til we sold it.. Now the house is under my brother and sister in law's name and we're still living together as a family =) I'll probably move out only when i get married =)

Hi, I own my home. My husband bought it for me a year ago. We rented for 26 years. He always worried that he would die before he was able to get me a home. Well he was able to buy me a house 3 months before he passed away. I still get a thrill walking around and thinking this is mine. My husbands last gift to me. He told me he prayed and prayed about it. Wasn't sure if he was going to be able to manage it, he did with God's help.

I am glad you have a home of your own. I'm also very sorry for the loss of your husband.

Me and my husband own our trailer and land I don't think I could handle living with my parents again much as ilove them they drive me nuts lol they have arguements all the time. However they did live me last year for a month after they moved back from New Mexico until they found a place of their own. And it was a stressful time being pulled this way that way. dealing with things. mom still expects me to jump when she says so and that irritates my husband to no end. I have stopped jumping as much but still feel as though i'm under my mother's thumb even though married.

we rent a house that my parent own and it pisses me off every single month we pay rent. We are throwing away so much money in rent without having anything left to show for it.
We live on the west coast and housing out here is just plain rediculous. A 900 square foot house (ONLY 900 SQFT!!!!) with 1 bath and 3 bedrooms runs about $225,000 and that is if you are luck to find something like that.
Uhhgg... so frustrating for young families (we are both 30 with a 1 year old son). They make it so hard for families to get ahead without having to take out some rediculous ARP loan that will go up 500 dollars after 5 years.

I sure understand your situation. One of my sons lives in San Diego and is paying an awful price for a one bedroom apartment. I doubt they will ever be able to buy a house out there. Housing is cheaper in the Midwest.

I am a single mom of a two month old beautiful baby boy and I live in my parents basement which was made into an apartment when my fiance of two years dumped me when I found out I was pregnant. Up untill then I lived on my own since I was 18. I found that it works better because my mom babysits when Im at work and they dont charge me rent I just by groceries once a month and help them out with my four year old nephew they have gaurdianship of.

I own, but will soon be renting until our house is done being built. Renting will be interesting after owning for so long!

TY all i have just realized how much my life sucks....lol. I live with my parents. I live in a town that is the second highest percentage growth in property valuies but yet the average pay is just above poverty level. You may ask why don't I move? Well when you dont make enuff to save to move it is kinda hard to move.
