My mother toasted the pumpkin seeds every Halloween, and they were always salty, crunchy and fabulous. Whenever I tried as an adult myself, they came out salty, mushy and gross. Not this year! I plan on turning out an excellent batch. I think my problem was I was not roasting them long and slow enough.

Thanks for the link to your blog. Thanks for the tips. If I stop being lazy I may try this.

I haven't done that since I was a kid. My dad always thinks he's going to toast them, but then he forgets about them.

I haven't craved a pumpkin since I was about 19yrs old and when we did that time yes we roasted ours. I am not fond of them. I think it is a waste of time to clean them and roast them. I can't wait til the year to crave pumpkins with my oldest.

Gosh, I haven't thought about that in ages!! We used to as children. I go to my brothers house every Halloween and carve pumpkins and take his 3 children trick or treating, so this year, I may roast pumpkin seeds!! Thanks for the memory!
