There are many long postings in mylot.
Persoanlly ,I feel some difficulty while going through the
lines but it's the choice of the user to post in that manner.
What is your experience?
Does it make any sense posting long?
According to Merium Webster Dictionary discussion is defined
as "consideration of questions in open and usually informal debate."

Personally I would rather have a long discussion than a short one. I never have liked the "hamburger or cheeseburger?" discussions and they almost make mee ill. I personally think that the length of this discussion is great since:
1- You got your point across,
2- it is well thought out,
3-it is intelligent,
4-It contains all of the relevant facts
5-It is not a one or two word responder
Now weather it is a discussion that is short, such as your's, or like an epic poem I do not mind as long as it fits the 5 points provided and myLot rules.
Thank you for the good discussion and have a great day!!

I have a different plan.
I am going to post long discussions when I cross 500 postings.
Right now , I don't have time to post long.
To post long discussions I need some strange topics.

It depends really. There are some discussions that require a lot of knowledge before hand. If the situation is complex it may require more description.
Personally, I'd prefer one long discussion to ten one liners. And according to what I can gather from the site guidelines, faq and whatnot, so would the site administrators. I was under the impression that the sites purpose was to have an interactive community with quality discussions. Quality often entails more than a few lines.

I think when you need to define some location or situation
which is difficult to say in word , you are going to describe
in a long discussion.
If you are writing story then you need it again.
There is one exception that every chatter will write many lines
for a small discussion.
Generally, I have found teenagers writing long because of vocab...problem.

Yeah, some discussions just drag on and on. I think it'll be great if people try to make it simple and to the point.

I am not against lengthy disussion but It should be logical.
If somebody post a long disussion with lots of work and
decorations inside the post making it interesting for me
to watch then I accept it directly.
or
you can write your matter serially and numbered.
