When you are at a professional sporting event, do you stay for the whole game?

Or do you leave early if the game is a blowout? Some people will leave early to beat the traffic or because the game is not even close. What do you do and what is your reason for leaving early or staying? I usually stay for the entire game since I want to get my moneys worth and enjoy the entire game. Only a couple of times did I leave early because of a blowout.

LOL.. that's when you bring a chubby date to keep you warm! I always dress in layers. Easier to take them off then to sit and roast at an event that you thought might be cold. Every hockey game I've gone to I dress like I'm going to a regular game. People come in with parkas on expecting it to be cold. Well once you load a rink up with people and all the electronics, etc. it's far from COLD in there unless you're standing on the ice! lol

I haven't been to many professional sporting events, but the few I have been at we have stayed the whole time. I think if we paid the money to go, why leave early? It doesn't make much sense to me.

I as well stay the whole game for
several reasons. To get my money's
worth I'm in no rush because I'm
with either friends or family whose
company I enjoy. If our team is blowing
out the other, we're probably going to
go somewhere else to celebrate.

I always try to stay to the end unless my team is getting killed. I always think it's stange that people will leave early when a game is tied or is really close. Makes you wonder how big of a fan they really are.

You do have a point that it is rude to leave a game early. What shocks me more though is when people leave early and their team is winning or it is a close game. In some cases you may have to leave early for a family emergency or something like that, which has happened to me as well.

I do stay for the entire game. I guess I feel that I paid for the tickets and probably drove a while to get there, I might as well stay and enjoy the view. The closest place for professional sporting events for us is 2 hours away in the neighboring state. But if we want to see our state play we have to drive 4-6 hours to get there.

I have only gone to a few. Each time we stayed to the end. We never care about the traffic, that's all part of the excitement anyway. I would not want to miss something the last second, because I was in a rush to miss traffic.

If the home team is winning i stay for the whole game. If there is a blowout for example baseball 12-4 in the late innings, i'll leave early. That happened only once (Chicago White Sox vs Okland Athletics) We had some good seats though. I would also consider leaving early if i went to go watch the Bears play. Chicago weather can get pretty ugly, and Soldier Field is an open stadium. So if the Bears where losing bad and the weather is unbearable then i would consider leaving early.

I never bought into the whole let's beat the traffic theory... Plus, there have been some crazy comebacks and I'm not going to be the guy trying to get back in when it happens! The only times I really left early is when I was drunk and my friends were too and we decided to leave, or when I had to leave to go to work! Other than that I always stay until the last out is made or there are zero's on the clock!

I stay for the whole game. But thats also because I don't go to very many games. I'm not going to speak for the season ticket holders.

Out of respect, I think one should stay the entire game. But, I usually end up leaving early because others in my party want to leave early to beat traffic.

I always stay for the entire game. I like to get my money's worth. Even if my team is losing bad, and I want to be considered a "true fan", I will stay till the end, like real die-hards should. If my team is being blown out, who knows what can happen? "It's not over till is over."

I stay for the entire game!!
The price of the events nowadays -- tickets, parking, snacks, programs -- make me not want to miss a minute!!!

The last time we went to see a game, we left early because we wanted to beat traffic. There is nothing worse than people driving after a game. Everything get to be crazy and I didn't want us to get caught in a middle of that.
