Clan of the cave bear

I just read the entire series last year as I inherited the books from my Grandma. I think they are wonderful. the first book took a littel while to pull me in but once it did I was hooked. I think my favorite is The Mammoth Hunters. I love that Ayla gets to meet more people and I love the misunderstandings between her and Jondalar. I am waiting impatiently for the next one to come out. After reading the others I feel like I am part of that world and that family and I want to read more about them. I even got my husband, who is not a reader, to read them. It is taking him waaaaayyy longer than me but he is woeking his way through them. Don't waste your time on the Cave Bear movie though. It was horrible and didn't do a good job at translating the characters at all. it was a waste of my time and very disapoointing because the books are so great.

I have read and reread the series many many times. In fact, it's the series I'm going through now. I've got all the books out so far and am dying for the next one to be released. I can't wait until Ayla and Jondalar have a baby!! I'm so excited for them. Jean Auel is an amazing author. Her characters are so full and wonderful. I love all of them. The books make me laugh and cry and just fall into Ayla's world.

I have not read this series as yet. I did know of the movie - Clan of The Cave Bear, but did not know about the books. Will have to make sure I check them out.

I read the 1st 2 years ago. I have also seen the movie from the 1st book. It stars Darryl Hannah. Book is better than the book imo.
