I have always been an avid coupon cutter and user. I get a thrill just seeing how much I can save (a real high off the big numbers lol). I am currently reading Greatest Tips from the Coupon Mom. It is inspiring and very helpfull I highly recommend it. Also I recomend you visit her website it is free to join and so helpfull. www.couponmom.com I love saving money where I can and cutting your grocery bill is a great place to start since the grocery bill is usually the third largest bill for a family. Here are some tips I recommend:
1. cut and use your coupons
2. Use your coupons wisely use them on sale items for the biggest discount
3. print out coupons online.
4. Always have ALL your coupons with you
5. Find a system that works for you for organizing your coupons.
Let me know how you do would love to hear some of your saving stories!
I went for a month not having to pay for dishwasher soap they had their trial packs of cascade and inside the package was a coupon for a dollar off ANY SIZE the trial packs were 88cents WOOHOO they were free for me!

Using coupons is very important now a days and I know that I should be using them more than I do now. I do plan on starting to use them more and am becoming more cost efficient due to the increase of the cost of living. Since I do not get a paper, I would need to use the online coupons for things that I want. Some of our stores here do not accept online coupons if it is to get something for free. That is great that you have saved so much money and hope that I will do the same. Another way to save money for grocery shopping is to get the store discount card as they usually have discounts for card users as well. This is not a credit card but just a store club card.

Yeah I have a Winn-Dixie reward card and a Food Lion frequent shopper card. I use them everytime I shop these stores. Some stores don't take the computer generated coupons because of the fiasco a few years ago with phoney printed coupons. I am glad all are not this way.

I used to use coupons and refund on a regular basis. That was back before the internet was popular. I got all my Christmas gifts by doing the. Couponing used to be much more rewarding. It was nothing to get half or more of my groceries paid for by free coupons and cents off. You simply saved labels and sent them in for free coupons. Now that I am online, I find that I am not doing it as much. Many stores do not accept the printed coupons that are available online.
I shop at ALDI's for all our food now and they are cheaper than when I use coupons somewhere else.
I do still use some coupons. I also sign up for card at the stores that I shop at. CVS, Petco, Kroger, Halmark and many more stores now offer great discounts if you have a card.
I send for the trial sizes of products to add to the baskets that I put on my beds for quests. I also use the trial size's for traveling.
Couponing has taken on a different meaning that it had in the 80's. You cannot save as much as you once could.

I love using coupons. I mean think about if you saved a quarter everytime that you went shopping, that would add up over the long run. Most times I'll save at least 2-3 dollars, and this will add up bigtime over the long haul.

This weekend I sent my mom and daughter to shop at the commissary (I recently hurt my ankle and I am on crutches and just couldn't handle hobbling to the commissary and around in the commissary)with strict instructions and presorted coupons that matched the items on the list. They did ok for ametours lol. They managed to save $9.60 and did fairly well curbing thier impulse shopping. I can't wait to get my shopping legs back under me though. I miss the thrill of the hunt lol.

Thanks for the link- I'm going to definitely go check it out. I haven't paid for razors, hair coloring, dishwasher detergent, and other things for quite a while.
I belong to a group called freelancebyu.com- Anjie is the owner. There is also a forum that goes along with the website. In the forum there are links to coupon sites- free coupons- great deals online.. and tons of stuff... This is where I learned to get so much for free.. they even have a freebies site.
I use the rebate section all the time-- I got 2 boxes of 30 tablets-- the good kind for dishwashers.. Try me free's.. same thing with razors-- they are always coming up free on the freebie section- you fill out some info online and they send you razors..
I love saving money as well. In my area you cannot use internet coupons (unless its Target and they are printed from Target online).. So I have to use real coupons.. I sometimes buy them from other sites but mostly get them from the sunday paper.
I clip them and put them in a 3-ring binder.. Bought the photo clear dividers so there is 5 compartments on each divider. Then my daughter sorts the coupons out- dairy products, meat, shampoos, etc. and slides them in compartments.. this is great because they are quite visible.. We go through them and move the expiring soon ones to the front of the binder. This binder just makes it easier to find your coupons and get those great savings!
Great question and again thanks for the website. Check out freelancebyu.com also. Its free too.

I will definatly check it out I mean who doesn't like "free"! I like your filing system. I have used several different designs over the years. My latest is the couponater that I got off QVC when it was on special and like real cheap. I like it better than any of the others I have tried. Keep up the good work saving!

I remember a couple of times i would try to get in to it.. But i never did. I don't think i ever did it right, because my friend would do it and get lots of free stuff like toothpaste or deoderants. I just didn't have the patients to sit and cut the coupons. So i just gave up on it. Once in a while i will find a coupon and use it.. but thats about it.. But i truely admire people who can do that.. its awsome.. Great job to you.. Way to go.

I am a regular user of coupons and wouldn't visit a grocery store without coupons. Tonight I went into the store and saved $49.92 and paid $10.00 for my groceries. My area doubles coupons to 1.00, so get many free items. The only reason my grocery bill was high this time was detergent and milk. Milk coupons are hard to get and many of the detergent coupons are low value. I always have free items in my cart. Last year, I won over 100 bottles of cola cola, which may last all of 2007, as am trying to drink less soda and more water.

I used to love coupon clipping. I got a rush from it. I would get the Sunday paper on Saturday and demand that I be left alone while I clip, file and make my lists. When I lived in Maryland, there was a grocery store that doubled coupons up to $1.00. Most other stores doubled up to 50 cents. Here in Chicago, I noticed that none of the stores that I know of do the doubling. Kind of takes the fun out of it. It was fun when I would find something on sale for $2 and have a $1 coupon that could be doubled. I am still into it, but not as much. I also was addicted to sending for free stuff online. Everyday I was looking for something free in the mail... maybe toothpaste, lotion, granola bars... whatever LOL.

I used to be so embarrassed when people would use coupons..ie: my sisters, mom etc. Since I've had my little girl I'm a AVID coupon clipper! I didn't realize how silly it was to not use coupons and I have saved lots of $$$ from doing this. Now, I wonder how much I have lost from not doing it before :) I also send for free samples on-line--- it is very addicting!! Thanks for your tips on coupons--it will definately come in handy!

my mom is the best person i have heard of for using coupons. she once got 6 carts full of groceries for 11 dollars. sometimes we have even gotten money back. similar to your dollar off coupon for 88 cents. some cashiers give you money back if thats all you get.

As a sahm I am always looking to save a buck. I also use couponmom, and the last time I went shopping my bill went from 250 to 170. I saved 80 dollars in coupons and buy one get one free deals. Even the people behind me were impressed! It can seem like a pain to gather all the coupons but it is a blessing in the end. Thanks for your tips.

I have used coupons alot in the past.. Espicially while I was feeding my two growing boys. They are out of the house now, and I admit I am not using the coupons as much. Yeah, I do get a kick from seeing how much I save when I use them. I do bulk shopping alot less now, but with the coupons I can grab little extras for my daughter and I enjoy that. Mostly I use the cereal coupons on a weekly basis.. That stuff is so expensive.!

Thank you very much for the link above. I have used coupons a lot since I have been staying at home and not working outside of the house. Now I have the time to cut and file and use them. This is a great way to save money and when you are feeding as many as I am the grocery bill is usually too high. I love coupons thanks again. I will enjoy the site too.

Wow that is great. We dont have coupons in the Philippines. Only we have discounts or free items if your purchase a certain item. For example if you buy a bottle of shampoo, with it goes a free small soap.
