The people who lost the most are being forced out. These people were the backbone of the New Orleans we used to know. Now, new money is preventing the disadvantaged and the income former residents from coming back. I know I would want to be be told I couldn't afford to go home again. Let's hear some suggestions to help these people.

there are alot of problems here, there is a serious crime problem going on and the rents have sky rocketed, and of course there is also the risks of the next hurricane season.
One of the posters on one of my discussions has said that many wish to leave because of crime.
I think its wrong that since the get go the poor and the disadvantaged have had the biggest problem.
Its not fair for them to be forced out. They should apply for any housing aid and also talk to the more reasonable landlords pertaining to rents.Check and see if this is really best now to stay there as opossed to what their finances would be somewhere else.
i WOULD ALSO SAY HAVE A PLAN INCASE THIS HAPPENS AGAIN, AS FAR AS WHERE YOU WILL STAY, WHO YOU CAN RELY ON.
One other thing is considering roomates and teaming up if possible.
