my dog billy is an australian shepherd and every morning he gets to dog bones, which he carefully takes from my hand. But if I give him a pig'ear, or a rawhide bone, he tries to hide it.He paces back and forth in the living room, and usually jumps up on the sofa and hides the bone in between the cushions

no my dog does not hide his bones. He just leaves them wherever he chewed on them at. No hiding.

My dog will hide anything he gets his little mouth on. He'll hide it in his cage, and, when I go to clean out all of his little treasures in his cage, he gets very very upset! LOL He'll hide his bones in there, along with anything he's found on the floor. His favorite thing to hide from me is a cow hoof that I bought for him. He loves chewing on that thing more than anything. I take it away from him if he's been bad, and that works way better than yelling at him for punishment. That is why he tries to hide his "bone" from me. He's afraid I'm going to take it! LOL
