Latley I can not get out of my bed in the mornings. I wake up to my clock but go back asleep again without meaning to. When I do get up I feel tired and dopey for about an hour before I get into gear. Any tips on helping me bounce out of bed in the mornings on time and feeling alive would be greatly appreciated

Keep an alarm and keep that activity in the morning which you enjoy doing so that you look forward to getting up.

It gets harder all the time for me as well, and on weekends when i can sleep in i still wake up before the sunrise like i have some place to go. It's a good idea to put your alarm clock out of reach so you HAVE to get up and turn it off, chances are you'll stay up then.

Set an alarm and never hit the snooze. Snoozing just causes you to delay getting out of bed... Wake 'em up!

I have a little dog so the minute the alarm rings I have to get up and let her outside for a minute so she can go potty. But sometimes I head right back to bed thinking just a few more minutes so I set an alarm clock in the kitchen that way if I happen to go back for just a few minutes the alarm will definitely get me moving and about in twenty minutes and not an hour.

I know exactly how you feel as I go through the exact same thing all of the time.. I always set my cell phone to wake me up & then I'll end up begin woken up by it.. Then I turn it off & will end up going to the bathroom.. And then go lay back in my bed not meaning to fall a sleep, but it happens every time.. And them I'll end up waking up to late & feeling like I wasted the day away.. I don't think it helps that I am a night person, not a day person.. haha.. I know sometimes what has worked for me is.. I'll turn on the lights as soon as I wake up, or I'll turn on the radio really loudly or even the television.. So that I have some type of noise going in the background.. And that usually just annoys the hell out of me so I end up staying up.. But sometimes doing this doesn't always work as then you will get so frustrated that you will turn off the television/radio.. And then end up going back to bed. haha. Another thing that may end up working is putting multiple alarm clocks all around your room.. After a while having to walk across the room to keep turning off your alarm clock.. Will end up making you want to stay up.. Sometimes I find by being able to look forward to something makes me want to wake up the next day instead of staying in bed.. I know that having something to look forward to makes me look forward to the next day instead of sleeping in all to long.. Another thing would be just going to bed earlier.. I have a difficult time doing this as well.. But I think I have to work on just going to bed earlier so I don't end up sleeping in all to long.. You may want to try that as well.. Go to bed at roughly the same time every night & then try to wake up at the same time every day.. It may work but I am not sure.. Coffee can always help one to wake up or even stay up for that matter.. I know coffee wakes me up after I have a few cups of the stuff.. I wish you all of the best when it comes to this.. I know I have a difficult time with this as well so your not alone on this one..

I too am a night person. Even if Im tired I seem to come alive at about 10pm. I do have a very loud good clock that I sleep through regularly. The only thing that seems to penetrate my sleeping brain is my dog licking my face to get up if my daughter lets her upstairs when shes leaving as she leaves earlier than me mostly.

This actually sounds like an emptional problem. If you are working a job that you hate, or you are even slightly depressed, getting up in the morning can be the hardest thing you do all day. So before you can figure out what to do, you need to first identify the root of the problem. Either way, it is going to take some mental strengthening and emotional healing. I would suggest you start by praying to God for strength, courage, and wisdom. Keep on praying, and keep on finding ways to imporve the daily and overall quality of your life. You will find yourself more enthused about living, despite the things that get you down. Until then, get a coffee or an energy drink. I.C. Jackson

I don't know something that can help you. I wake up every day at 6.45 in the morning and when the alarm rings I just go turn it off and wake up, it doesn't take me much to really wake up after that, then as I have to hurry up to catch the transports I don't even have time to thing about sleeping a little bit more, so I think I can't help you much on this matter, sorry.

Lately I've been feeling great in the mornings, despite it being cold, wet and horrible outside. I can only put this down to going to bed (reasonably) early most of the time, good diet, detox patches, exercise and swim first thing in the morning, and then a shower. If you can't do some of that above, then I recommend putting your alarm clock at the far side of the room so you have to get up to turn it off, then force yourself to stay up and hop into the shower immediately.

Not sure I have all the details but, Sleep it is the best thing to renew your energy. Do not stay up till 1 or 2 am whatching tv. Try working hard (physically) no one can stand when tired. Get to bed early. You may want to boost your self up with vitamin B6 & B12 (energy) Be sure and eat a healthy diet with energy food.

Always turn the snooze button on if you have a habit of falling asleep. Whenever the alarm goes off the second time, get up out of bed no matter how hard it may be. Do it anyway. Don't lay there you'll just fall right back to sleep!

One good idea is to invest in the kind of alarm that lets you use a CD as your selected music to wake up by. Then YOU get to pick what will be the first sound you hear each day. This can make a huge difference. Everyone has that ONE song that just puts you in a rockin' mood no matter when you hear it. Another good thing is to be sure you'd have to get out of the bed and walk as far as possible across the room to turn it off and go back to sleep. (You need to have the volume loud enough so that you can't just lie there and fall back asleep with it on.) Another thing is, if there's something you really love to do, set aside some time first thing in the morning for yourself to do that. Let that be the only time you allow yourself to do that thing. You will (within time, like a couple weeks) come to look forward to getting up in order to do that. For example, if you have a favorite TV show, Tivo or DVR it and only let yourself watch it first thing the morning after. Or if you love to read a particular magazine, only let yourself read it during the first half hour you get up each day. Whatever it is that you love, put it in that first time slot and you will scramble to get to it. It doesn't even have to be the same thing every single day, but if the first thing you have to do is something you LOVE to do, you will break the cycle is resisting wake-up time.
