I have notice that there are so many of you who are asking about suicide...."why souldn't I"......"how should I"...."what is the easiest way to"....What is running through your mind. I really want to hear your opinions. I believe that God has given us life and only He can take it.

call me cynical, but they seem to mainly be thinking 'this topic will get me tons of responses!'. Because they always do. When someone gives their name to the admins and they pass their IP address on to the cops and the cops show up at their door, they'll hopefully learn their lesson.

Don't get me wrong. I would really like to know why there are so many people interested in this topic. There are so many different places where one can go for help. School counselors, pshycologists, prof. counselor, churches, close friends.

Frankly I'd have a lot of appreciation for anyone who did this if I were talking about killing myself. Getting put in the hospital isn't exactly fun, but when things have gotten that bad it's very necessary. I have been put in the hospital a few times, and at the time it was needed. I would not want anyone to sit back and allow me to hurt myself if they were able to stop it.

I have noticed that myself. I have no idea why post such a topic? My thought it could be they really in need of attention and look for it from others like mylot, or they just want money. It makes me wonder myself why even openly speak about it to strangers do they feel comfortable. There could be a number of reasons why. I just don't get it myself, maybe this post will also help me understand..thanks for posting a good topic...

mzbubblie, I appreciate your comment. I too do not understand. Although, I have read that many people are doing it for the money, how much can one possibly make here!!! Like a couple cents a day depending on how many people respond to you. Seriously. I too, hope that these people are really trying to grab attention and not serious. I hope that they would turn to someone (clergy, family or friends)for help. And if not, there is always God.

I try to not to focus on it, but there are times when it's all I can think of. I won't do it because I couldn't hurt my family that way, but sometimes I get so tired of living with the pain. It's not that people who are depressed want to die so much as they want to cease to exist.

I really truly believe it is just there attempt to get alot of responses on mylot..Im on another site thats just like mylot..and i am seeing the very same questions/threads..and i find it seriously rude, and wrong on soo many levels!!And if they are true..then they need to get help asap..and i think we should all report to mylot and see if they can help and get involved and get the poilce involved and let them go from there,.this is a serious issue, and should be treated as one..and if someone is lying..well then they shoudl be punishedfor worrying people like me..worrying about them!!!

i agree with you..i've seen quite a lot of that on here the past few days, and i think with the people posting them there are one of two things going on.....either they are trying to get a lot of responses, which is just sick and stupid, or they need to get professional help from somewhere. Mylot is NOT professional help, and either way, their problems don't need to be spread around for the world to see on a site like this.

I think in most cases it is someone looking for attention. 99% of the time they really do not harm themselves, they are just calling out for help. They want someone to say they still care about them.

I think it's natural for people to want to reach out when they are desperate and hurting. It's easier to do it online because there is seperation of a kind - you know friends and family will worry or get angry. There is a protective barrier if one does it through the computer.

Our culture is so decadent and depraved that people feel lost and alone. People seek only pleasure instead of the true joy that comes from a solid foundation. Pleasure cannot sustain them, so they become depressed. It is a terrible thing, but perfectly understandable why it happens to so many today.

ilunice, I pray right along with you. I have heard different responses already, but none have me convinced as to why there are so many people asking this horrible question. Ok, I agree that there are attention seekers, others perhaps do it to created a good discussion but how do you reach those who really need our help. That is what I want to know!

One of the min reason modern society is getting lost is that there is no spiritual support. Many western ideas discourage the belief in a creator or divine being. that is why we have many people just unable to cope with modern day pressures. There isn't anything to fall back on for hope or emotional support.

I think this is one of loads of bad effects that the actual modern society gives us.
People are getting more alienated everytime that we move forward, and these ones just don't have the experience to cope with all the problems that appear in front of them.
If only they are sorrounded with -friends- . .
