where is the strangest place that you have ever been ?

The strangest place I have ever been is most likely very different today. I did some consulting for the Soviet space program in 1986. At that time, most Soviet citizens lived very austere lives. I spent most of my time with computer programmers on the bottom floor of the Space Research institute in Moscow. My coworkers had cramped shared office space and bathrooms that were tiny; with folded newspaper on the wall for use as toilet paper (on my trips there, I always took a suitcase full of toilet paper to give as gifts to my coworkers; although half of my toilet paper disappeared in Soviet customs). One day, I was invited to go visit the director of the Soviet Space program in his office on the top floor of the institute. His office was HUGE; filled with beautiful furniture, and his office space included a massive greenhouse, where he grew his own coffee and citrus trees, right in the heart of Moscow. When I asked to use the restroom, Dr Sugdaev went to a wall safe, where he got a roll of toilet paper for my use, and I was escorted to the most splendid restroom I have ever seen; with beautiful marble and granite, and gold plated fixtures.
