Looking down upon other mylot users.

It's sad but true.I have come across many so called intellectual mylot users who tend to look down upon other not so articulate users. True ,there are many members who are here to just increase their rankings and earnings at a superfast speed and in doing so adversaly affect the standard of discussions. But there are others who have good thought process but due to their lack of language command they are unable to express their thoughts efficiently. The super efficents members should feel obliged to respond if they feel they are doing some favour by responding to these discussions. Members with good IQ and understanding will certainly respond to these discussions as their routine interaction activity. So (super humans)please dont feel sorry and waste your time and sentiments anymore. Everyone here is equal and deserves respect. It is the responsibility of Mylot to decide who remains here.

You're welcome! :)
Actually, funny you mention it - I love the cartoon and when i first started on the internet i tried to put johnny, but evrybody had taken it first - yahoo email, everything. So i chose Jack and it went through. Ever since i use jack for everything - and i'm actually starting to grow used to it - it's a nice, strong name don't you think?
As for the head banging, I think just another month - I'm close - I need to see the golden egg actually laid, not just go based on what I think is going to happen. ;)

You are right friend. Even i have faced many such users, who think that they are the superior and if they respond to our discussion, they are doing some very big favour for us. These users forget the fact that tomorrow, even we will reach that place and we are not going to be the same all the time. Anyway, there are other users who really respect everyone equally. So why to bother a lot about the negative.

I just wanted to say that I think what you have written is very true, and very well put. We are all equal and desevre the same respect no matter who we are. I hope that this is something that will not only happen in mylot but in life in general. Everyone is different but everyone is also the same.

Sweety dont sweat the small stuff. I know there are people like that on here and there are some ignorant people and some down right rude ones but that is the same in the world all over it takes all kinds to make this world so just let it go the rest will take care of itself i say. I dont look down on no body i dont feel i am above or below anyone i believe we are all created equal and should be treated as such but not everyone shares my views either.

What frustrates me are the people who don't realize that there is a LARGE portion of the membership here, where English is NOT their native language. You have to look through the grammar and spelling and interpret some responses, because their language skills aren't the same. that does NOT make them less intelligent!! It just makes their ability to express themselves limited by their fluency in the language. People who don't have the patience for that are the ones that are highlighting their own ignorance and intolerance.

You are absolutely right!
I have seen that there are some people who have problem with English and may not be very good in expressing their thoughts but they have good ideas or themes or topics. I have always felt a need to encourage them by supporting them. In days to come, they may do much better than those who are at higher levels today.
No myLot member should look down upon others. If everyone were same, there was no need for a foruum nor for discussions that we have here at myLot.

I tend to answer every discussion I come across, even if it's a somewhat lame 'pay me' post.
I agree with you that discrimination of English as second language MyLotters is not right. They aren't alone at being scoffed at. There are several different kinds of issues on MyLot that cause what you call the 'intellectual MyLotters' to scoff and sniff.
There is your 'spelling challenged MyLotter.' I am one of these, and like many of these, sometimes I'm too lazy to pop open my word processor and cut and paste text. (That you can only do after posting 500 posts, so those newbies are out of luck. They can't use word processors and paste.) Then there is the website itself. Sometimes, it won't load posts that have capital letters that are typed into the window. Any capital letters. It wasn't until after I reached 500 that I was able to cut and paste and get rid of both badly spelled and capital letter free posts. Newbies are stuck not capitalizing anything because they want their posts to load.
Yet I am not sure that all MyLotters can tell the 'pay me's' from 'English as second language MyLotters' or any of the above MyLotters with writing issues. Or maybe they don't care and want to get snippy.
I can tell the difference between an English as second language MyLot poster and a lame 'pay me' poster because of the typing and the structure of the sentences. I don't care. I'm polite to everyone unless they post “DDDDDDD” or something so out of line something had to be said.

I agree withyou that not onlysecond language mylotters, but a not very articulate mylotter also faces the brunt of intellectual scoffers and sniffers.
I understand we can't be polite with deliberate abuser of this site either. Thanks crafty for the good answer.:)

Hello worthy. I know what you're saying. In my four month's tenure here, I have seen the best and worst of mylot. Your thread was 5 months old already. Still, there are a lot of posters here who did nothing but to cajole and ridicule other members. I can understand that this is a forum of diverse people, but a little respect wouldn't hurt and won't cost us anything.

I think people who were brought up to speak English in the USA, should have a decent grasp of the language. However, most of my friends on Mylot were not raised in the USA. Sometimes they struggle with English, but I do not care because I love my friends on here. With a little effort, I understand what they are saying. And believe me, they are worth it!

Hi, worthy. I would like to think that I am one that treats everyone as an equal. I don't know whether I've got a high IQ or not, but of anyone that chooses to respond to my discussions, I believe I treat equally well. I like the fact that there is so many different cultures on myLot, that is a part of the attraction for me, and if people aren't as articulate, so what! As long as I know what is being said, that is what matters to me.
